Appeasement

Based on what I'm seeing so far, I think that the first time China decides to invade another country whether it's Taiwan, the Philippines, or Vietnam, I'm thinking that we're going to attempt an appeasement strategy. China's military rise is being discussed and there's some concern about it, but what I hear most analysts saying is that we should: "Don't fan the flames, don't make them angry, and they'll settle down". Course, we're well aware that won't work.

Seeing history repeating itself is terrifying and at the same time interesting in a very dark way.
