What happens if let’s
Say we come out of crisis, but have a bad First Turning.

Say we come out of the Awakening but have a bad Third Turning.

We know if a crisis ends badly but what if an awakening
Ends badly? What would happen to culture for example?

How does it impact the cycle and the generations depending on their location?

A turning is an interval when a generation is in power.
What do you mean by a bad turning?

The best way for you to find an answer to your question is to pick a
couple of examples of a country and a time where a turning "is bad,"
according to what you mean by that term, and then see for yourself
what happened in those countries afterward. That's the only possible
way to answer this kind of question.

Strauss and Howe that anyone could have a Good or Bad Turning. But not a repeat of the previous or a hastening of the following one. A bad first turning for example would be an Assaination of a post crisis leader and weak civic government. A bad second turning would be an actual crushing of the counterculture by the establishment. A bad third turning would be discredited institutions stepping in on culture wars with one side totally left out leading to polarization anyhow. A bad fourth turning would mean losing a war and worse depression for sure.

Strauss and Howe have a lot of anecdotal information, but in terms of
a theoretical foundation, their book is total nonsense, and it applies
to only two countries, the US and England, so the questions you're
asking don't even make sense to them, except in some Anglo-Saxon
social sense that has nothing to do with generational theory.

I suggest that you pose your question to them or their acolytes.

And Strauss and Howe mainly is US after the American Revolution and my questions may be far off but not impossible globally in the dynamics. Maybe to straightforward but I have read their books but I am aware Generational sociology is far more complex than that so I hope I do make some ground.

To ask this of Strauss would require a Spiritualist Medium.

Uh,.. to offer an answer, if I may...

Turnings are good for some and bad for others.

A turning is rather like the first of the month. Some months have more days in them than others, and some calendar systems have rather arcane ways of operating, so predicting what day of the week any particular day of the month is going to be on (for example) can be "complex", but the first of the month is never considered to be good or bad regardless of this "complexity".

So, the question of "goodness or badness" is really about the perception of the turning from an individual's or group's point of view.

Who, then, are we talking about?

Turnings do what they have to do,.. meaning: Frustrations build along group-vs-group faults until they relieve themselves by "tiny wars" until those wars can't relieve the building frustrations, and full on runaway anxious paranoia causes genocidal war(s), which creates some buffers that inhibit more BIG genocidal wars until the buffers die off, and the next cycle repeats.

That ALWAYS happens. HOW it happens is unique to every situation, depending on innumerable variables.

Is failing to catch a lovely wave because some moron drops in on you which would have thrown you into the reef and ripped off your head a good thing or a bad thing?

..but nothing is going to stop the surf from piling up into waves that may or may not be "good" surfing!

(( ..without some pretty serious teraforming, anyway. ))

Aloha guys! :) <shaka!>

So let’s say what happens to Hero’s if a Crisis ends Badly?

What happens to Prophets if Awakenings unfold badly?

See if you can reach some conclusions based on what happened in the American Civil War.
