I made a video showing Bernanke saying the Fed does not print money and Powell saying it does.
Just a minute and a half and makes me smile. :-)

Vince, I see that core PCE data for USA is being released tomorrow. Just maybe, this is the catalyst for a Black Tuesday? Lets see.
I am not clear on the last day of the USA trading month, if the close off is Friday or close off on Monday (31st) there could be a short sqeeze as traders balance their books. This is a guess of course as I don't know whether in aggregate shorts or longs are greater at present. I am guessing shorts as the market is now in down trend.
So it could be Black Tuesday or Black Wednesday!!!
The market is up so far today. If the PCE could make it go down tomorrow, so our string of down weeks got even longer and we got into official bear market on S&P, then maybe Tuesday could be the day.

Right now it seems all sorts of people are looking for a bear market rally. Like they think the market will go down but they think it should go up a bunch before that. So I am not sure there really is enough fear yet. But fear could go up tomorrow and over the weekend maybe.

I hate how YouTube does that!

Dow down 939 points. Will Monday be the Big One?

Whiff; Apple, Amazon Lead Markets Lower

Stocks finish sharply lower Friday, pulled down by a lackluster
quarter for big tech earnings.
I hope Higg will comment on this, aeden too. I was worried this week it would happen and it seems to be slowly creeping towards it.
Your guess is as good as mine. I don't have any position in the market right now. The Fed announcement is Wednesday and I suppose they will do the usual and hope that it works one more time. I still think the key is interest rates and they haven't moved much either way since I last posted. If the market moves higher toward May 9 I will probably go short there.
The market has gotten through the month of May with a small gain but might be set up to crash now. The S&P futures spiked to 4202 last night and have backed off from that important level to 4166 now. In 2008, the market hit important resistance levels overnight, didn't touch them during the cash session, then crashed. A little observed fact is that NYMO hit 105 at the close Friday and if this is a bear market that's not good, these people are right: https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NYMO and things got more extreme as the futures spiked to 4202 and reversed, but that won't be added onto NYMO if the cash session doesn't follow.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

The futures have gone negative at 4142 with a low of 4140. Anything can happen, but this is the kind of reversal that can lead to a crash. I think the trap door is open.

At this moment, the S&P futures are down to 4128. The Dow is down
200.

I just can't get over what a mess things have become. The cost of
energy is pushing the CPI very high in Europe. The Europeans are
spending all their time arguing about how they're going to cut off oil
and gas purchases from Russia -- stuff that they desperately need --
while Russia continues its almost unbelievable genocide in Ukraine,
with the genocide funded by Europe's oil and gas purchases. Multiple
countries are facing famine this summer and fall because they depend
on wheat shipments from Ukraine that Russia has blocked. In the
meantime, China is send dozens of warplanes into Taiwan's defense
zone.

The Biden administration has pursued one policy after another to turn
America into a Palestinian territory, as demanded by Palestinian
activist Rashida Tlaib and other Squad members. Biden purposely
sabotaged the Afghan withdrawal. Biden issues new regulations on a
daily basis to destroy the American energy industry, in favor of
Russia and China. Biden is withholding important weapons systems from
Ukraine, in order to sabotage the Ukraine defense.

Previous Democrat presidents -- Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill
Clinton, Barack Obama -- would never have taken these steps because
they all wanted America to be great. Biden is repeatedly contemptuous
and derisive of "making America great again," referring to MAGA as a
dangerous, extreme and terrorist slogan. Biden wants America to be
not great, but destroyed in its current form.

It took only a year for Biden to cause this mess. Biden is moving as
quickly as possible to destroy as much as he can. The midterms can't
come too soon.
