The kids of the 97th Percentile aren't even smart enough to get into college on their own. This realization has the possibility of the "death of a nation" creeping into mainstream news this morning, where the article states the US may go the way of Rome.

Addition to book four.
A real value of a good or other entity has been adjusted for inflation, enabling comparison of quantities as if prices had not changed.
Changes in real terms therefore exclude the effect of inflation.
In contrast with a real value, a nominal value has not been adjusted for inflation.

This is just the next of the Generation-X disasters that you and I
have both written about.

I see this sequentially. Gen-X "financial engineers" caused the
housing bubble and financial bubble by knowingly creating fraudulent
subprime mortgage based securities with the intention to defraud their
parents' generation, the Boomers.

Alan Greenspan expressed shock and surprise that so many bankers were
willing to defraud the public.

Obama's Justice Dept refused to prosecute the banks, but instead chose
to receive tens of billions of dollars in political contributions from
the banks, in lieu of prosecution.

These same bankers stayed in the same positions and went to commit
other kinds of frauds -- eg the Wells Fargo credit cards, and Forex.

Then there was Obamacare, which was the stupidest economic policy
since Richard Nixon's Price Controls.

When I wrote my 2015 article on Healthcare.gov, even I was astounded
by the level of fraud. Obama authorized $500 million for development
of Healthcare.gov, and 90% of dissipated through fraud and corruption.

So now we have this college scandal, which appears to be growing
quickly, and may end up encompassing hundreds of colleges and
universities and many corporations and much of Hollywood.

You can just see the sequence:

- The Gen-X bankers created tens of trillions of dollars of fraudulent
securities

- Obama refused refused to prosecute the bankers, but instead took
many billions of dollars that he need to fund his own corrupt and
fraudulent Obamacare scheme.

- Millions of people saw how corrupt Obama was, and they decided that
corruption and fraud are easy ways to make money -- which resulted in
the massive and growing college admission scandal that we're now
witnessing.

What I'm saying is that if Obama had not set an example, and instead
had prosecuted the bankers for the financial crisis, then the college
admission scandal would not occurred.

Meanwhile, SAT scores have been going down for decades, because
schools don't teach anything but sociology and women's studies.

And the stupidest people, like AOC, the depth of whose stupidity is
breathtaking, are in leadership positions.

However, feminists should be very proud of AOC. She may be
incredibly stupid, but there are millions of even stupider males who
have been following her and listening to her. AOC is a great feminist
icon, a stupid woman able to lead even stupider men. Feminists should
be very proud.

Great post, John. You hit the nail right on the head.

The Gen X Debacles are a daily occurrence. We also had Boeing this week, which is run by a typical Gen X CEO.

Since this is a college admissions scandal and parents are involved, we know it has to be Gen X parents. The vast majority of people today who have 18 year old kids are going to be Gen X. This scandal is all about Gen X and how they operate as parents and otherwise.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

“According to the monetarist view, what buried Rome was inflation stemming from government spending and adulteration of the coinage, coupled with what Mikhail Rostovtzoff deemed to be over-taxation of the middle class. But what actually led to fiscal and monetary breakdown in the every major society from Babylonia through the Roman and Byzantine empires to more modern times was the ability of large property owners to break free of taxes. The Roman treasury was bankrupted by wealthy landowners using their control of the senate to shift the fiscal burden onto classes below them. Lacking the means to pay, these classes were driven below the break-even point. As debt deflation drained the economy of money, barter arrangements ensued. Trade collapsed and the economy shrunk into local self-sufficient manor units”
