Usually links are just that... links. But I must leave a comment on the piece of "journalism" at the Asia Times by a Mr. Desantellis. It was very poorly written and very shallowly thought through. No effort was made to integrate the dinner theater metaphor with the main body of the article, the stresses and strains within the EMU. There was little or no value to it beyond the presentation of some known facts of the issue. Of course, this rather arrogant aside in the article didn't help: "ignorance of the American tea parties." Huh? Why do I get the feeling that way up there in his pristine ivory tower where the intellectual elites have the answer to everything, he has no idea about the dynamics which have brought forth the tea party phenomenon. In fact, the ongoing political/media vitriol reminds me of the early twentieth century cry of the socialists against the hated "bourgeoisie." I guess we'll see if the American people can wrest control of this societal bus and bring about an orderly and thorough structural transformation to less government intrusion before the "dead man walking" Welfare State model of government inevitably collapses in ruins.

I was 'somewhat' enjoying the article (not a lot, but somewhat) until I came to that statement about the "ignorance of the American tea parties". I wrote a note to the author of the article, but I'm sure they could not care less what I think. Let's face it, I'm an ignorant Tea Partier. How much can my opinion matter?boqueronman wrote:Of course, this rather arrogant aside in the article didn't help: "ignorance of the American tea parties." Huh?
