As a former staff officer, would Turkey send its forces into Syria and fight the Syrian Government and the Russians? Turkey COULD invoke article five. https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_110496.htm

I don't think it works if you are attacking another country; only if you are attacked.

As a said before on this post on a different forum, Once again John presents and distorts Assad as some kind of psychopathic monster who just looks for peoples to exterminate.

Actually, there is one more "de-escalation" zone after Idlib. It is Al Tanf, enforced by the US.
