The probability of war is 100% but that certain war does not necessarily have to involve the US, at least initially. If a war involving China breaks out in lets say Central Asia or Kashmir for example than that would be a scenario in which a massive world war has broken out yet does not involve the US.John wrote:

Yeah, but what does the "world" part of "world war" mean to you?CH86 wrote:The probability of war is 100% but that certain war does not necessarily have to involve the US, at least initially. ..but semantically, you are quite correct. Bits and pieces of the world CAN, and have, sat out a world war.
And what probability do you assign to the case where the US is one of those bits?
Oh,.. and would you prefer a red cape, or a flaming gold cape (or some other color or color combo) for the CH86 character in the comic?
..I'm thinking that the Wrathful Whippersnappers costumery should reflect the choice of color and "logo" of their leader (you), but how would you like that to be implemented?
You know, maybe the "Whippersnappers of Wrath" would work better, as they can have "WoW!" on their uniforms somewhere!?
..I like it! 'Though I'm not sure how the World of Warcraft people would feel about that.. .. .. meh..

A Much higher percentage chance than Russia has of being one of those bits.FishbellykanakaDude wrote:Yeah, but what does the "world" part of "world war" mean to you?CH86 wrote:The probability of war is 100% but that certain war does not necessarily have to involve the US, at least initially. There is no basis under any kind of international law for US intervention. Venezuela is a basket case, Not an existential threat to US and other American nations or not a potential platform for an existential threat to the US. The Venezuela crisis shows that the Boomers have become completely lawless, no respect shown whatsoever to any kind of rules or regulations.John wrote:** 4-Mar-2010 High drama: Juan Guaidó returns to Caracas, Venezuela
If you can get to a tv showing the BBC World News, the would-be
president Juan Guaidó has just arrived in Caracas, amidst huge
crowds, from a visit to Colombia.
It's high drama. Guaidó is returning in defiance of Nicolás Maduro,
who had forbidden Guaidó from leaving the country. Thus, Guaidó could
now be arrested.
What will Maduro do? Enquiring minds want to know.

OK,.. that's a sensible relative comparison, but what's the absolute (numerical) difference between those two probabilities?CH86 wrote:A Much higher percentage chance than Russia has of being one of those bits.FishbellykanakaDude wrote:Yeah, but what does the "world" part of "world war" mean to you?CH86 wrote:

( My guesstimate: Pretty damned teeny tiny! )

Cue the apologist for the tyrant's use of hiding behind the pitiful shield of "international law",.. which he (probably "he") doesn't actually believe in.CH86 wrote:There is no basis under any kind of international law for US intervention. The schizophrenic mentality of the tyrant (CH et al) to the concept of "law" appears yet again.
..but what would one expect? The idea is to be allowed to do what one wants, as Daddy's rules are "SO EVIL...!!"
(( I know,.. just GOTTA pick that one nerve-ending related to "Daddy Issues", don't I? I'm so obnoxious... admittedly.. <chuckle, chuckle, chuckle...!> ))

As a practical matter, everyone will try to stay neutral as long as

successful at staying neutral.
In a non-crisis era, countries can more easily be successful at
staying neutral, like a disease that can't spread because everyone is

extremely high everywhere, and the disease spreads very rapidly,
because no one is vaccinated.

This kind of thinking comes from the lack of natural selection on the human population.zzazz wrote:On what is total gibberish---
John wrote in the book excerpt a post or two backThis is total gibberish dressed up like a syllogism. To see that you just try to apply the same logic with other concepts (as Aristotle taught us). It's 100% certain that there will be massive wars, including one or
two world wars in this century. So the world war with China that this
book is about is actually quite likely.
so for example:It is 100% certain there will be massive floods, including some in this century, So a massive flood covering the whole Sahara is actually quite likely.
Much of John's reasoning is tainted by this kind of mental sloppiness, and it prejudices people against GD, and makes it hard to be pursuaded by any of his arguments.
Someone who thinks like this would've been culled in nature for the lack of mental capacity to store food and survive a long winter.
Or fallen prey to a saber toothed tiger.
But, we instead have civilization that has likely subsidized people who think like this, making the average IQ fall a few more points.

Good grief.
I've been away for a couple days.
Are John and I the only adults here?
