Not just in China. This is a good way to get rid of used-up people
in every society.

Yay...! Everybody wins...!! Elites rejoice..!!

..just joking, but only barely.

The "one party staters" (you know who you are!) have been trying to shed all those annoying "worthless" people since the eugenics days, so we don't "muss up" their lovely planet.

A delightful world-wide pandemic would go some way, at least, toward trimming back the less useful slaves on the plantation.

..once again, just joking, and once again, only barely.

The Fourth Turning page 273
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announce the spread of a new communicable virus. The disease reaches densely populated areas, killing some. Congress enacts mandatory quarantine measures. The president orders the National Guard to throw prophylactic cordons around unsafe neighborhoods. Mayors resist. Urban gangs battle suburban militias. Calls mount for the president to declare martial law.

The Wuhan Flu / The Spanish Flu

The Wuhan Flu (Covid-19) is officially uncontained. I think you can say that when people in Iran and Lebanon have it.

The historical parallel is the Spanish Flu of 1918. Like this flu, it created conditions in the body that led to body fluids filling the lungs, which often led to death. The entire world, every single human being alive in 1920, had been exposed to the Spanish flu. You either caught it or didn't (slightly over 25% of the population became infected), and about 2.5% of the population died from it. Back then, this was about 50 Million People, about twice as many as had died in World War One.

It's been a hundred years since the world has experienced something like this, and since it is not in anyone's living memory, people are in a state of ignorance which will be followed by panic. 2.5% of the population dying today is something on the order of 200 Million deaths. The Spanish flu ran its course in about 2 years. Because of modern methods of travel, the spread will be much faster, but modern hygiene, at least in the most modern countries, could slow it somewhat.

Like in the days of the Spanish flu, the medical establishment will be completely unable to treat the masses of people that are going to come down with this. And as I pointed out about everyone back then being exposed, eventually everyone now will be exposed to the Wuhan flu too. It may actually be a blessing to get affected by it early on, before the masses are infected, so that you can get top notch treatment. When the masses get it, the sick will be put on cots in gymnasiums and tent cities, and either your body will fight it and you get better (along with gained immunity) or you die.

The Wuhan flu, like the Spanish flu, will spread the fastest and be the most virulent in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene. This is because it is best spread through fecal contamination.

Sanitation and hygiene are pretty poor in China. Remember that China was a complete third world country only 30 years ago. Chinese culture regarding sanitation and hygiene has not yet changed. A friend of mine told me of encountering Chinese tourists at Yellowstone who were defecating in one of the stream inside the park. They thought nothing of it, and when one of his family, who spoke Chinese told them to stop and get out of the river, they told him that "there was nothing wrong with what they were doing". Frankly, they just didn't know any better because that was how they grew up.

Anyone's best defense is to live in an area of good sanitation and hygiene. People need to wash their hands frequently, especially after using the bathroom.

But then given the fact that people are not going to change their habits to benefit others (or even themselves), we are all going to get exposed to this.

As this disease spreads like wildfire, the places hardest hit will be China, India, Africa, and possibly Latin America.

The Chinese government, the Chinese Communist Party, is not going to willingly take the blame for tens of millions of deaths due to their complicity in the origination (which grows more likely daily) and botched containment of this disease.

They are going to start blaming the West and the US in particular. In fact, the Russian propaganda machine has already started spreading the lie that the disease was engineered and spread by the Americans. It is almost certain that the Chinese will jump on this bandwagon shortly.

They will really have to when people are hit with the double whammy of an uncontrolled worldwide pandemic coupled with an economic meltdown.

There are lots of reasons why coronavirus today could be worse than
Spanish Flu a century ago, but there is one thing we have today that
they didn't have back then that's worth noting: Today we have the
ability to develop a vaccine, and there may be vaccines in production
in 6-18 months.

According to the reports that I've seen, getting coronavirus doesn't
give you immunity, and you can be reinfected. In fact, as I briefly
mentioned in my "Planning for Wuhan Coronavirus (Covid-19)" a couple
of days ago, "However, those who develop severe cases and survive
often have damaged heart muscles, and many have developed heart
attacks."
