Trump added another 10% tariff to the already existing tariffs today. Good. Press the attack. China is pumping the West full of drugs and cheating on trade and stealing everything it can.

While the liberal media howls in indignation, the message boards overwhelmingly support the president. Keep up the attack!

Perhaps South Korea is acting (consciously or not) as a relief valve between the West and the East "sides".

Their getting "pissy" at Japan, and by extension at the US, may well very slightly "appease" the "Eastern Alliance" into not starting "the war" until "a bit later".

I'm not saying that this is a conscious decision by anyone to forestall "the war", but my personal opinion is that the actual shootin' war won't start until nearly all of the "little pressure valves" have been blown,.. and this kinda smells to me like one of those little pressure valves.

** 03-Aug-2019 World View: Hong Kong generational split

I've been watching the Hong Kong coverage on the BBC, and
right at this moment it appears that the police are about
to make a move to push the pro-democracy protesters back.
There may be more violence in the next hour.

The BBC reporter made some interesting generational comments.
The pro-democracy protesters are almost all very young --
students, civil servants. They've all presumably grown up
since the 1997 handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China.

There's a separate smaller pro-Beijing demonstration going on,
on the other side of the harbor, and the BBC reporter says
that they're mostly elderly people.

The Chinese are excellent at shooting their own people. Killing Chinese people in massive numbers are the defining military achievements of the PLA. Over the years since Communist control was established (1940s), the PLA has killed between 50 and 100 million Chinese.

They get medals for it. It’s their specialty.

The US should support the PLA. At least send them some ammunition. They’re doing the work for us.

Sure makes me want to open a factory in China...

They are elderly poor people who live in slums are get paid a few dollars a day to protest against the protesters. The gap is between those who have a future and those whose futures are behind them. A bunch of used up and impoverished elderly people who have been abandoned by their children (shame on them) and left to rot in the slums of Hong Kong are being cynically used by Beijing. Nothing more.

Hong Kong Forever!

Sad, he should have waited. Better to run with a pack in the coming Civil War than jump the gun as a lone wolf.

The person who wrote that manifesto, allegedly the El Paso
shooter, clearly had mental health issues and was clearly
delusional.

Are you saying that you agree with the manifesto?
