Unfortunately, education has nothing to do with it. If Rwanda had
better schools, would the Hutus have killed fewer Tutsis?

Bashar al-Assad was educated in London and became an ophthalmologist.
Vladimir Putin is highly educated. And yet they're both committing
genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Arab Sunnis in Syria.

Aung San Suu Kyi is well-educated and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. And
yet, she's overseeing the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Rohingyas.

Xi Jinping and, in fact, most Chinese people are well-educated. But
they're still arresting, enslaving and killing Muslim Uighurs and
Kazakhs.

In addition, Buddhists and Christians are also beaten, jailed and
tortured if they claim to worship anyone but Xi Jinping. You'd think
that was a joke, but it's not a joke.

And today's Democrats are well-educated, but they're on the same path
anyway. Democrats have turned into crazed lunatics, on the one hand
demanding a suicidal Socialist agenda, and on the other hand totally
psychopathicly obsessed with hatred for Trump supporters. And we
haven't yet seen the worst of it.

So, unfortunately, being well-educated has nothing to do with it,
except that when you're well-educated then you know more ways to
torture and kill people, and you know more intellectually vacuous ways
of justifying your torture and killing.

Southerners have a (probably not true) reputation of being politically about 5 degrees to the right of Attila the Hun!
Attila was a "leftist"..!!

He was into slavery, totalitarianism, killing his rivals, and military expansionism.

..a man of his times! :)

Not going to happen in the United States of paranoid delusions.
Enough nutbars have been wound up by the GOP, NRA and right wing media to create a civil war if they tried .
Bubba got a coal rolling truck and a 50 cal he ain't gonna obey your rules.
This was in regards to my question if America could impose the kind of measures to stop the coronavirus that China has.
I think if it got that bad, the "nutbars" would go along with the program, however.
Am I right, or is he?
The "nutbars" with the 50cal's would act as the "Cajun Navy" did during the hurricanes and floods.

Mainland Chinese populations are utterly disarmed and cowed. They likely welcome "martial law".

Americans will assist the emergency personnel, and martial law would not be necessary.

..and as much as I love zombies, a zombie apocalypse scenario ain't happ'nin'. :)

Okay, here goes. Every single conference, business meeting, and seminar scheduled to be held in China I know of has been cancelled--not rescheduled--cancelled.

Clients who have factories operating in China that they are dependent on are really screwed. Everyone is looking for alternatives, but you can't build new factories in Vietnam overnight. People are facing complete ruin.

Where is this virus really taking us? This one feels creepy. I've been these before. This one seems different, completely so. I hope this burns out quickly, otherwise Asian economies are going to crash.
And then the sky fades to black again, AND STAYS THAT WAY.

Copper is in the toilet and that's a good thing in many ways - gold will become more scarce as copper mining hits the skids, fewer vandals will be stripping the wires out of buildings for scrap value, and the price of copper wire in general will plummet.

Perhaps the price will fall enough that a copper penny will be worth 1/100 of a Federal Reserve Note - Currently the melt value of a penny is about 1.8 cents - so copper would have to get down to $1.54 / pound. We will see. $1.00 per pound copper would be an indication of a real economic bottom, IMHO.

This coronavirus is becoming a true Black Swan and the implications are enormous - workers not working = product not shipped = broken JIT material sourcing process and the gears and electrons of commerce grind to a halt. Grim.

I am sure glad the Chinese have been honest from day 1 otherwise it could have been a much bigger issue.

I do astrology and Pluto the god of destruction and rebirth is transiting Capricorn.

The last time it did that was from 1760 to 1778 it was a time of war and resulted in the creation of the USA.

Now that Pluto has returned the USA will be tested to see if it should survive.

As copper goes, so goes the nation.

Firstly,.. that's probably rubish, and secondarily...

..the vast majority of post-1982 pennies are 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper, making the COPPER value of a penny 2.5% of 2.5 grams times the value of copper per gram (in dollars).

That comes to about $0.0058 (.58 of a penny) in melt value.

So much bullshit. So little time... Reader beware!
