North Korea
Re: North Korea
We all know the dangers that nuclear weapons in the hands of North Korea and how the neighboring countries are now. For those of us who study nuclear weapons, we remain concerned that North Korea wishes to export nuclear weapons to nations around the world as a new industry. It seems that much of the world is not interested in, and we are trying to quell any further thoughts about the new Kim Jong Un.

The CIA assesses that North Korea also has a substantial arsenal of chemical weapons. North Korea was a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty but withdrew in 2003, citing the failure of the United States to fulfill its end of the Agreed Framework, a 1994 agreement between the states to limit North Korea's nuclear ambitions, begin normalization of relations, and help North Korea supply some energy needs through nuclear reactors.

Chemical weapons are a lot easier to make than nuclear ones. I've heard them called "The Poor Man's Atom Bomb" for precisely that reason.

The problem is they work about as well as a poor man's attempt at making an atom bomb.Trevor wrote:Chemical weapons are a lot easier to make than nuclear ones. I've heard them called "The Poor Man's Atom Bomb" for precisely that reason.
One of the funniest, in a make you cry kinda of way, that I have seen in the last 10 years is the way the government took the websites showing people how to protect themselves from chemical and biological weapons off the web.
Satirical talk show hosts ridiculed the concept that locking yourself in an interior room and sealing up the cracks with plastic and duck tape could help one wait out the deadly cloud dissipating. The government took the advice back to avoid being laughed at.
But in reality, that is exactly what one needs to do, and it is very effective.

Yes...but how long do you have to be sealed in? Long enough to suffocate? Especially if it is VX?Reality Check wrote:The problem is they work about as well as a poor man's attempt at making an atom bomb.Trevor wrote:Chemical weapons are a lot easier to make than nuclear ones.
