It might also be of interest to note the most effective ways of avoiding the boom and bust cycles of the farming economy have been degraded in the United States.

The futures and options markets are no longer a safe place to hedge against rapid price swings, and U.S. government subsidies that encourage farm level, and farm community level, long term grain storage after a boom year have been reduced and often eliminated.

Some countries, like China, Pakistan and Indonesia do not report civil unrest and riots to the outside world.

So these statistics may be very misleading.

I don't see why that would be. Having a reduced sample size gives you larger error bars, but I would not expect the results to reverse. They have enough datapoints that should not happen.
