You say that China has been building its military in its entirety to attack America with a first strike. Is there any book, papers, etc., that you could forward?
I do not doubt you, would just like to see this analysis for myself.
Thanks

Top article listed on left hand side of the home page is a report from the Pentagon talking about it.

It's my own conclusion. I've written about a number of Chinese
missile systems over the years, and they're designed to target the US
- aircraft carriers, cities, etc.

Once China has an inventory of hundreds or thousands of these things,
then they're not going to sit around in storage for 50 years,
especially in view of China's increasing nationalism. They're going
to be used. And under the perfectly reasonable assumption that China
will start the war, and escalate the war, then those missiles will be
used preemptively.

Think Pearl Harbor.

John, once again a big "thank you" for your tireless dedication to Hari Seldon's thankless task. With respect to China, I wonder if you have seen this observation:

The Taleb-like thesis is (I think) is that China is diverse, and a social breakdown is possible. ONe response would be to go to war with the US, but that's not the only possibility.

Thanks for the nice words, David. I hope you and Martha are
doing well.

And thanks for the article reference. I completely agree that China
is headed for a civil war. As bad as the global financial crisis will
be for us, it will be much worse for them. 70 years ago, China had to
fight both a war against Japan and a civil war. They lost the war
with Japan (but were saved by the US), and Mao won the civil war.
China will have to fight a civil war and a world war again, in the
years to come.
