Truth and lies are often mixed together. Hence the need for discernment.

For me, the big tip-off will be when the PLA concentrates a couple of hundred thousand troops in the port cities that China will use to invade Taiwan (most likely Quanzhou and Xiamen). Until such a massive troop concentration takes place, the CCP are just engaging in sabre rattling. Serious nonetheless, but the real danger isn't there until the Chinese move land forces (and naval transport) into place to execute the invasion. The PLA will have to do this quickly, so as to maintain as much operational surprise as possible (surprise here meaning the opposition does not have enough time to fully take countermeasures), but I think they could do it in about a week or so, especially if they time it with previously announced "military exercises".

Also, as some have pointed out, there are only 2 seasons a year when the PLA can pull off an invasion due to sea conditions. Oct/Nov and Apr/May. I don't think they have things in place for current Oct/Nov, so I view Apr/May as the most likely option.

Out of curiosity, have the US and her contain China allies been scheduling 'exercises' during the four critical months?

But Navigator, if John is right and WWIII joins this list:

will the time of year matter a particle? If some birds fly over a radar station and cause a false alarm the war might start regardless of the month.

My point is that a lot of Trump supporters consider that site to be credible. Which means that its endorsement of the “America did it” theory could be the beginning of that theory becoming mainstream, at least on the right.

And you know what? That could be for the best. The truth will be revealed, one way or another.
Allow me to further clarify. If one side believes in X, and the other side believes in Y, then the American people will demand an investigation, and the truth. And it may well go either way.

Whichever way I doubt the losing side will be convinced.
