The real shit sandwich that few people talk about that the "Founding Fathers" (and they were enlightened men in many ways) bestowed upon us was slavery and bringing blacks to America. Without that division over time was far less likely, and still reigns to this day. The jewish diaspora around europe found ways to create chaos and division, though, so it's not like it wouldn't have happened here, it just made it easier for them to stoke even more problems.spottybrowncow wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:25 pmIt's the most fundamental problem with freedom - how do you defend against those who would use freedom to advance totalitarianism, without immediately limiting freedom?guest wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:38 amAmerica is the biggest mental hospital on the planet Earth.
I think the founders understood.
There is NO perfect system of government.
Any system that allows too much power to accumulate in too few hands is bad (maybe very, very bad) for the out-of-power.
The founders recognized this, and took great pains to split up the power. That's what's so brilliant about our Constitution.
The Left's assault on Federalism is their main tactic to alter this system. If individual states lose the capacity to resist, then all is lost.
We must resist it at all costs.
When Europe and America lost Christianity, which is the point, they lost any cultural impetus towards rightly directed freedom and order. Virtues without discernment (God) mean little.
