It's been inevitable that Palestine would go to the UN eventually. It's apparent to an unbiased viewpoint that Israel has been absorbing the West Bank and slowly creating an extended Israel with a second class non-voting population. Obviously the Palestinans will resist this. The most cursory examination of maps of settlements on the West Bank from 1965 to present shows this assimilation and that the Palestinans are being pushed into smaller and smaller areas.

Both sides are guilty of war crimes by the UN definitions, but then so are most countries with an active military. This will all be interesting, but apart from giving Palestine a bigger soap box to shout from, nothing is likely to change.

Morsi is apparently trying to catch everyone offside with his push for power. Unless they intend to rig the voting, this thing doesn't seem likely to pass.

Iran had a "baby boom" after the last war, but it wasn't a huge one.

I suspect they are worrying about Iraq's population. I do not believe there is much a government is willing to do that will cause people to want more children.

The population projections into the future aren't worth much IMHO, all the ones I've seen for my entire life have been too high. Most of the worry over infinite growing Muslim populations is overblown, they are hitting limits on local food resources already. The idea of importing food forever only works while everyone has a surplus they are willing to sell, and you have something to sell they want to buy. Charity will only carry you so far, especially if you become viewed as a potential enemy.
