Wrong. It was previously allied with Austria, because Spain and Austria was governed by the same family for centuries: the Habsburg family.

Germany? Huh?

That Austrians speak Germans is a pure coincidence of history (10th century), but these two countries have almost no common history and their culture and worldview are very different. And, as an aside, they were adversaries around the time of the War of the Spanish Succession.
