Isn't dropping the Euro a good thing? Portugal, Ireland, Spain, and Italy should follow suit. At least they could control their own monetary policy. Greece would be poor, but it has been poor for a long time. The 1990s and early 2000s boom was just a credit bubble. I know there would be a period of sharp economic trauma, but what would you call what Greece has been going through for the last 7 or 8 years?

Time to take the plunge.
