I haven't seen the documentary because it hasn't aired yet, and anyway
it's in Russian, which I don't understand.
There was no "US-sponsored insurgency." This is a concept
manufactured by Russian trolls like yourself.

Apparently your trollmaster didn't fill you in on history, or maybe
your trollmaster knows as little history as you do.
Russia has been interfering in Cuba for 55 years, including providing
weapons and money to make sure that Cuba remains Communist. If we
have followed Putin's path, we would have sent troops into Cuba and
permanently occupied it, overthrowing Fidel Castro's government.
The point that you trolls never address is that it doesn't matter what
excuse Putin gives for invading Crimea. He had no right to invade
Crimea for ANY reason. Or, if he did have some grievance, then he
could have gone to the UN Security Council to request some remedy.
Instead, he simply ordered an invasion and annexation, just like
Hitler.
The fact that Russia invaded Crimea at all, no matter what the excuse,
makes Putin an international criminal, and makes you and your
trollmaster the idiots.
