Alliances are a good place to look, but they can be deceiving. For
example, Russia and China have been making a lot of deals, but they
Russians and Chinese hate each other. Same with China and India. A
good place to start is to look at the relations between countries in
WW II, or in the last crisis war, and then trace how they've evolved
since then.

pick a country of interest to you and do your own
research

Obama seems to dislike Jews and Sunnis. :)

Obama's father was a Sunni Muslim. He renounced Islam and
converted to Christianity, and so Obama became a Christian
at that time.

Each country would have to be researched individually, examining
long-term historical trends. I don't have the time to do that, but
feel free to pick a country of interest to you and do your own
research. If you do, please post your results on this forum.

John - what involvement do you think there would be, if any, by South America in a clash of civilizations war and who would they align with? Also, what are your thoughts on alliances by African countries?

Was Obama's father a Shia? He seems to be favoring them.

Couldn't the rise of fracking and alternative energy explain Obama's lack of regard for the Arab oil states and Russia? A lot of people keep talking about the move away from fossil fuels. Perhaps these countries no longer really matter that much.

What calendar comprises of 18 months from 4/2016 until 1/2017?? Maybe WSJ finally publicizes article written last summer.
The WSJ article that I was quoting was from July of last year (7/2015).
