You reminded me that in 2010-11 I wrote a series of articles about how
Muslims and Christians were slaughtering each other around Jos, which
is the central Nigerian city on the fault line between Muslims in the
north and Christians in the south.

It seems very much like the classic pattern in Nigeria. It's been around 47 years since their last crisis war, so I don't think it's going to happen again in the near future. Not impossible, but I consider it unlikely. It is becoming clear, though, that the two sides are not going to reconcile.

Making matters even worse is that it's becoming a flash point for outside forces; I've listened to enough rants about how heartless Muslims are butchering innocent Christians while their government does nothing to protect them. I'd expect there are Muslims who feel quite the opposite. I'd say Nigeria has a decent chance of being a theater of war.
