The following are some mostly emotional personal thoughts on the
subject:
First, "winning" a war is almost always meaningless in the decades
that follow. If it's a civil war between ethnic groups, then the
civil war starts again with low-level violence during the Awakening
era, and the country is little changed from how it was before the
civil war.
If it's an external war, then the conquerers intermarry with the
local population, and within a couple of generations nothing has
changed. Either way, the war changed nothing.
For decades, people have said that if the Nazis had won WW II, then
people in France would be speaking German. That's laughable. If it
were true, then the people in Eastern Europe would all be speaking
Russian, since the Russians essentially did in Eastern Europe what the
Nazis tried to do in Western Europe. At any rate, if the Nazis had
won, then they would have had a huge mess on their hands during the
Awakening era, and the victory would have fallen apart just as
Russia's victory in Eastern Europe fell apart.
In the coming war, China is going to be fighting a ground war within
China itself, as well as with India, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, and
other countries. China will be too busy fighting itself and its
neighbors to send an expeditionary army to North America.
However, China will launch probably dozens of nuclear missiles at
American cities and bases. In America, there will be millions of
refugees, lots of starvation, disease and violence from marauding
gangs. But I would expect the country to survive.
