I thought I was unique in observing cases of younger engineers cutting back on security. While they talk to me about too much work and expense, the real reason usually seems to be that they don't understand the mechanism and will not admit they don't know more than an old boomer. Younger people in IT have a mantra they are taught all through school, they know more than the people who've been doing this job for decades. They won't consider any evidence to the contrary as anything but boomer lies.
