Morsi surprised quite a number of people, apparently including a number of the Muslim Brotherhood members. Otherwise they'd have been barricaded and ready for trouble. Seems to me he saw the cease fire as a turning point and decided to seize the day. It's pretty likely he's overreached himself badly and will pay a heavy price in the long run.

China wants war in the worst possible way, and that's probably what they are going to get.
