Re: Inflation, deflation, gold and currencies

If money is scarcer, and on the basic laws of supply and demand why does it not lead to inflation? The less money there is the more expensive it will become leading to inflation. Unlike basic goods, money has a fixed notation i.e. $10 does not change to $20 when there is less money circulating. Les...

Re: Financial topics

I went to the DJIA page on google.com I saw the market was down 500 points. I hit refresh to see a change. Down 600.

All in all, 10 seconds.

Re: Financial topics

You can literally feel us teetering over the edge. The Dow has lost like 17% of its value this week alone. A panic obviously refers to the mood of a population, but these are 'panic numbers.'

Re: USA and "military mode"

What Happens Now? ...After the Bailout Bill passed! Of course I forgot to say "Bailout the World", since probably the USA IS "The World". The main reason for all financial (and other) problem in the REAL World is caused by USA . All those European bubbles were caused by America? Anyway, it's quite ...

Re: A 4T Narrative (2009-2020?)

I think one trend we may see is a consolidation of power in which governments begin to merge like large corporations. I think a North American Union is in the cards. There will be fewer currencies and more international regulation of trade. I think there will be a significant clash between islamics...

Re: Generational Crashes

Looking more at figures, I decided that numbers were often misleading, so I went to double check on economic conditions during the Civil War. From the preface of "Social and Industrial Conditions in the North during the Civil War" by Emerson Fite: http://www.questia.com/library/book/social-and-indus...

Re: Generational Crashes

Side note: Doing a little more research, I found that I underestimated the severity of the 1857-1860 period. However, it doesn't match 1837 or 1893. When Mike Alexander raised this question, I was able to respond by scanning a diagram from one of the books he'd authored: http://generationaldynamics....
