Re: Financial topics
Third, this so called racial flash mob nonsense has been going on for decades. Sort of, but I do think there are some subtle differences. The generational dynamics xenophobia observations seem accurate and xenophobia looks to have arrived in America. A phobia is an unreasonable fear of something. "...

Re: Financial topics
So believe what you want guys. But what I'm telling you is that if you think that your debts are going to be bailed out by inflation, you're dead wrong, and you will pay for it. John In a book I read on the Weimar hyperinflation I found it interesting that at a certain point the government passed l...

Re: Financial topics
However, every central bank everywhere knows how to make a fiat currency weaker, just print a bunch of money and buy any crap until prices go up and the currency gets weaker. They could buy up bonds, other currencies, toxic assets, rice, used cars, whatever, and it would work. Yes, but consider thi...

Re: Financial topics
I try, as much as I can stand, to avoid getting involved in these discussions, because I'm so contemptuous of this total nonsense, and I try not to insult the nice people in my own forum unless I'm really forced to. You know, I'm not sure why you're so contemptuous of people who think we're going t...

Re: Financial topics
I do not think the mob issue is about race. It is about circumstances and opportunity. If by your circumstances you are fearful, you best not provide the opportunity. Riiiiiiight. The mobs, which are entirely composed of black people, have nothing to do with race. If it was not about race, the mob ...

Re: Financial topics
I have to insert a word here for web site readers. This talk about gold is crazy. Gold is currently in huge bubble, and when the bubble bursts, it will fall to well below $500 per ounce. It may indeed go up further from where it is now, but the only way to make money from that is to predict when th...

Re: Financial topics
Another even later interview: http://www.newsmaxstore.com/newsletters/fir/reports/FIR_16_Templeton.htm Interesting that in that interview, Templeton says (with regard to real estate): "A 50% drop off in prices is quite possible. " Perhaps he backed off his 90% drop prediction. He also said (this wa...

Re: Financial topics
Back in 2003 legendary investor John Templeton said that real estate was in a huge bubble and his advice on when to buy again was: "After home prices go down to one-tenth of the highest price homeowners paid, then buy." http://www.garynorth.com/public/4690.cfm I remember mentioning that prediction o...

Re: Inflation, deflation, gold and currencies
Gold is now "flavour of the month" as one of the safe havens and anything is possible including $ 2500 / ounce by the year end. Gold is not a long term investment, but something that can be "milked" now. If you buy gold or gold miners have stop losses in place and watch twice a day. Regards, Richar...
