You got it. It can and does happen, and I have a friend it happened to who was cleared of all accusations earlier this year. He only shared what was going on after he was cleared. I had no idea what was happening and neither did anyone else, and I would bet that only a handful of people are aware of it even now.Trevor wrote:If it hasn't happened, it's natural to think that it can't. I used to think it was all a bunch of BS. Hopefully, you won't find out because I can tell you, it's not a pleasant experience.

Looks to me like the guy who got all the excitement was your (now) 67 year old cohort. I'll tell you a litle more about why he said he had those affairs. His boss was a nasty Boomer female 4 years younger than him who was promoted on an affirmative action program. She was clearly unqualified and was just fired (but old enough to retire). Her firing was a long time coming. But he told me that, according to her, he couldn't do anything right. In my opinion, he was a highly competent individual. He said he felt so worthless when he was at work, but when he left work and went out drinking and partying with the Xer women they made him feel great! He said as soon as he got out of that pathological environment he didn't need those Xer women anymore. He told me he never even understood what was going on until after it was all over.John wrote:I gotta say, Higgie, that you've had a much more exciting life

After reading through all this crap a couple times, it's my opinion that the state and the employer need to get the fuck out of the business of regulating sexual behavior. The smartest person in all these stories I related was "Jen". I believe she was sexually harassed but didn't tell anyone. She was an obvious target and the men in that office were a bunch of criminals and perverts. I believe she made it look like she was my "property" to keep them away from her.

That's really good advice for a woman. A woman who brings sexual harassment
charges becomes loathed by pretty much everyone in the office - both
men and women.

John, it's also very likely that it was her husband who gave her that advice, or at least knew what was going on.John wrote:That's really good advice for a woman. Re: Generation-X culture vs Boomer culture
I have a question for everyone:
Is Gen-X loathing directed equally at Boomer men and women? Or is it
directed only at Boomer males?
John
P.S.: Does the concept of "cougar" play a part?

When it actually happens, it shouldn't be tolerated and should be punished. However, I believe there should be a distinction made between actual harassment and a one-time thing of saying something stupid. We all do it from time to time, but under the wrong circumstances, it can get you into serious trouble.
Unfortunately, if you're accused, even if it's over nothing, your reputation is destroyed. Even if you're cleared, some people are going to think: "You just got off; you really did harass that poor girl."

I absolutely despise the female Jewish Boomer who passes herself off as an expert in some bullshit area she knows nothing about.
A good example of this is a book that came out called The Rules where these female Jewish Boomers offered despicable advice to women like, if a man calls, tell him you're very sick and can't talk so you get him in the habit of calling you back.
Another example is, generically, you get female Jewish Boomers offering their so-called expertise in things like how to land a job. They'll say inane things like tattoos don't go over well with employers and for the women, wear neutral colors, but if you put anything in your hair it's OK if that's a bright color but don't use pink.
Who are these people that they think this kind of garbage has any value whatsoever.

Just one small question....Has one of the major Hollywood studios cobbled up the production rights to all this yet?!?Higgenbotham wrote:Lastly, this occurred in the office I moved to from the office "Jen" was in. I will tell this through the eyes of a Thai American guy I was training. There were 4 departments in this office building, all on different wings of the building. There was a courtyard out back.
Some of the Xer women from a different wing started smoking out in the courtyard. Pretty soon they set up a picnic table in front of my cubicle, which viewed the courtyard. There were two rows of offices in the building that viewed the courtyard. The women would strike various poses and grin at me from time to time. I was probably 38 at the time and the women may have been 10 years younger. The Thai guy liked to come down to my cubicle to watch this show. Our female Xer office manager noticed and commented, asking me if I liked the view from my office. I said yeah, it's not bad. So one day the Thai guy pointed and excitedly yelled, look at that! By the time I looked, the Xer woman still had her hands on her shirt, which was back down and she was grinning like a Cheshire cat. I said to the Thai guy, what happened? He said she flashed her bare tits! He was really shocked because he was first generation and couldn't imagine that what he just saw was really happening.
Next, from another wing, there was another girl, also an Xer, the Thai guy met and brought into our office. She was a fox. It turned out she had embezzled money from a bank and was in a structured living arrangement, and that office had hired her to work until she went back to normal living. We took her out into the courtyard and tossed a frisbee during one of our breaks. There was a garage in back of our office that was accessible, but rarely used. She spotted that right away and suggested we go in there and have sex. I ignored that, but decided to go to her going away party before they turned her loose back into the real world.
I could fill another 16 pages with this stuff but eventually it all reads kind of the same.
