Tsunami survivors tell their children and grandchildren of the danger but those who did not live through it just are not as convincing to the next generation. In Japan they came up with the idea of carving the warnings in stone. There are hundreds of markers, some more than 600 years old, that say things like "don't build your home closer to the ocean than this marker". With this the grandparents can explain to the grandkids that a past tsunami came up to this marker and they can tell their kids the same thing.
Perhaps they need some new stones saying "Don't build nuclear power plants closer to the ocean than this marker".
