The reason, cb, is that watching runaway collapse is more interesting than watching slow decline.

Again John, you missed my initial point. Perhaps you need to hone your reading comprehension skills.

My point was that even though I do believe that it was China, I'm saddened that there is even one iota of my psyche that would consider that it could have been the USA. That's how much the trust of my own government has faded. It's really a quite simple premise to understand if you're not blinded by wanting to badly to be "right".

Lol! By the Biden administration?

If the virus had been planted by the US, then the Chinese would have
figured that out by September 12, 2019, and they would have announced
that and gotten the WHO to announce that long before now. The whole
concept is ridiculous.

I've been called a lot worse, so being called an ass is the least
of my concerns.

I've been following the situation in Afghanistan pretty closely for
months, and yesterday the Taliban captured a major provincial capital.
Today, the UN envoy to Afghanistan Deborah Lyons said the following
(my transcription):
> "There had been expcectation that when the agreement
> was signed in March 2020 we would see a reduction in violance. We
> did not. There had an expectation that when the peace talks began
> in September that we would see reducion in violence. We did not.

What a pile of crap. Not only is she a useful idiot, it also shows
how the entire United Nations is a bunch of useful idiots, repeatedly
kowtowing to the likes of China. Her expectation was a reduction in
violence? This is worse than a useful idiot. This is a total idiot.
You'd think she would be humiliated and embarrassed to make this
statement, but nothing embarrasses these idiots.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi was a useful idiot for
the Burmese army, defending their genocide, until the army turned
against her, and buried her deep in some prison.

The WHO were a bunch of useful idiots for the Chinese, by supporting
their lies about the Wuhan virus.

Anthony Fauci was a useful idiot, paying for funding for the Wuhan
lab, covering it up, and lying about it.

I've spent the last couple of days immersing myself in various
documents about Chinese strategy, and we may be close to being the
target of a massive nuclear attack by the Chinese Communists. Their
whole strategy is based on deception and deflection, such as
pretending to be threatening Taiwan, when the real target is the US.

So I am getting REALLY REALLY sick and tired of crap from trolls and
useful idiots.

DaKardii says the same thing as you, but I tend to shrug when he says
it.

But I expect a lot more from you, because you lived in Korea for 20
years. You know very well how the CCP uses deception and deflection
to cover up their plans. In fact, wasn't it you just a few days ago
in another thread where you accused me and Americans of being naïve,
saying that you've lived in Asia for 20 years, and you see through the
CCP's lies whereas Americans are always being fooled? That was you,
wasn't it? And now you're doing the same thing? What the hell???

Things go much better if you leave out sentences like this. I think you make your point in the next paragraph (minus the last sentence). That should suffice.

A couple decades ago, when I first heard about John, I was impressed by his arguments. I expected him to be right. Now, he has been right, AFAICT, in geopolitics. That is a fantastic record. But he has been mostly wrong in at least one economic prediction. When I (or anyone) disagree with him on something, he tends to get rather nasty. That, of course, eventually encourages others to reply in kind.
In my personal case these is a complication. I tried to do something for him which he did not appreciate. I may have been wrong, but I consulted people I respect first and did my best to make the right decision. I will not make that mistake again.
My two ¢.

My first two attempts should have been enough.

I've been following this forum for about 15 years. It's my most trusted place on the internet, But it's not perfect, as nothing is. As I get older, I get more ornery, and I suspect John is older than me. I pass all information through a filter, and this site is no different. There is much truth here. I advise people that they may get more useful knowledge from trying to encourage the truth, vs disparaging that which they disagree with. But again, that's just my opinion.

You make a very good point. I'm 77 years old and really pissed off
that I'm still alive. Ornery is a mild word for what I feel. 20
years ago, I might have coddled an idiot for fear that I might need
him in ten years. But today I know I won't need him in ten years
because I'll be dead (I hope). So if I do a lot of research and
someone ignores all that research and just says "I'm skeptical," after
doing no research whatsoever but going on "feelings," then I have no
need or desire to coddle.

Inflation June-July = 0.48% or 5.8% per year.

So OK, I've been deluded all these years.
John, I give you credit for admitting to have been mistaken.
but one thing that still frustrates me is that we have so much new knowledge in how natural systems work and so much new technology that can produce abundance and I fear that a lot of this will be lost in the war.
thinker, if you are concerned about this, then I suggest you contribute this information to the Memory of Mankind https://www.memory-of-mankind.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_of_Mankind
You can contribute unlimited amount of text and other data for free, and you get free ceramic disks that map where the time capsule is located (Austria).
