Hshsg, the Church is like the 2000 year old man...it has seen everything. Out of 266 popes Francis is far from the very worst, even for Traditionalists (if they know their history). About the only thing a Pope can't do is ex cathedra promote heresy. I am not Right or Left but I am considerably more Conservative than Francis. But I ain't leaving the Church over that.

I like Francis for one reason: He is destroying the Catholic Church.

Anyone aware of Catholic history would be aware that they haven't always been a bunch of saints. I may not agree with the common style of Catholic bashing - I bash a bit different, and sympathize a bit more with the Pope moving with his base - but I'm sure aware of where the bashers are coming from.

Meanwhile, humans love and adopt new technologies. If you try to oppose those themes... Well. Good luck.

Maybe it is OK to hate child abusers and their protectors. Maybe it is OK to hate those that believe their religious doctrines should be forced on others who don’t share them. Maybe it is OK to hate those who believe one should “kill them all, let God sort them out.” Maybe there are other reasons to hate holders of various beliefs catholics have held over the centuries.

At any rate, do there exist catholics who don’t fall into any such category? Lots? If you find such a catholic who has no such distasteful or questionable belief, would it be bigotry to hate him anyway? If he does fall into such a troublesome category, is it not a valid dislike?

If a central theme of Generational Dynamics is to hate those that are different, are catholics different? If one should avoid hating those different within your own culture, is such hate permissible if there is a good reason that applies to the person hated?

Seems like a lot of the anger directed at the RC church on this board is by Catholics (or ex-Catholics).

Not all Democrats, but Senator Ed Markey (D MA) wore such a pin. The pin was apparently provided by Planned Parenthood. Markey advocated abortion "as essential healthcare and we need to codify this right."
