I didn't read the below headline, then post the above. Kids shoot their parents nearly every day. The circumstances vary. I didn't bother to read the circumstances in the below article. Just to say, these headlines can be seen regularly. I knew it would be easy to find one.

I can relate to the length of time issue myself, which is why I noticed the issue of the feral children, and why I harp about Bernanke delaying the cleansing process because to me they are one and the same.

The girl who was gone for 18 years could not be reformed. I realize one example does not constitute proof. The Ukrainian girl who was gone until age 8 could be reformed with difficulty but for sure she consumed more resources than she will ever give back.

I spent 8 years doing my own work on rental properties. 11 years later, my Dad asked me to replace a water heater. I grabbed my tools and was done in 2 hours, just as would have happened 11 years previous. At the time there was no question in my mind that I was capable of doing this, or that there would be any difficulty whatsoever. But now, 20 years later, I would be very hesitant. I could point to other examples of the same type of thing, but I think that illustrates it well.

The manufacturing has been off shore for too long. The US population has been nonproductive for too long. At some point there is no turning back.

Right now we've been heading away from high civilization for some decades. Several years ago, aeden mentioned the David Hoffman videos taken in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s - the differences are extreme at this point. Clearly, there is no u turn coming to take us back to high civilization. The extreme from that would be the feral children. Obviously, we don't get there either unless the human race dies out and there are just a few children left and no adults. Knowing how feral children turn out should give some indication of what the in-between will look like at the bottom of the new dark age.

I think all of what is occurring the past few weeks is indicative of my theories that nothing will push this market down based upon historical precedences.

The QE 1,2,3 infinity, market manipulation, grey and black markets, fraudulent collaboration of the IMF, Federal Reserve, and international banking and insurance monopolies will act as a massive pressure wave that prevents the lemmings from falling off the cliff.

However, as the system breaks down it acts as an unending series of breaking waves of mass that pileup at the edge of the cliff with each successive wave adding more mass, pressure, and force that at some point will reach an tipping point that cannot be withdrawn or retreated from. This will result in a catastrophic social, financial, political, cultural and spiritual spontaneous combustion that the world has never before seen and will not know how to respond.

It can't be stopped, but prior events won't predict (or) give much warning. I see this coming apart in a 72-96 hour span of time. It will be quick and furious. Once it begins, the shock waves will encircle the globe within hours taking everything down so fast the talking heads will shit themselves trying to explain what is happening. Then the last big game will start.
On the plus side, Obamacare will be moot.

The Cambodian jungle girl was lost at age 9 and returned to civilization 18 years later. I would posit that her failure to be reformed is due to the length of time she was away, not to any previous mental condition. There's no indication from what I've read that she was mentally deficient before being lost.

You might want to think about that one for a minute.

How many 7, 8 or 9 year old girls do you know that have any trouble at all using a vocabulary of at least thousands of words, and talking endlessly ?

The joke/truism here is: "We spent the first two years trying to get our children to walk and talk. We spent the next 16 years trying to get them to sit down and shut up."

Humans are designed, genetically, to talk. Granted they must be around people to learn. But human babies are the most dependent in the animal kingdom. Even if the one in one billion, raised by animals, stories were true; even after a disaster that killed 99.9% of the humans on earth, the remaining babies would be raised by human survivors and they would talk.

From anything I know about it, she was normal at the time she left. But I'm not able to recall a specific article that I can get to in order to show that. 18 years was probably long enough, and whatever trauma she went though was traumatic enough, that she lost her ability to speak.

A vast infrastructure has been put in place to make children into what they grow up to be. I don't think it can be lost for too long before the human race can turn into something that is unrecognizable. I'm not really saying humans will be walking on all fours and unable to talk, unless there are only enough humans left that they are all raised by packs of animals, which obviously is not going to happen. But the loss of the socialization infrastructure for more than a few years could have some pretty serious effects, as I think these extreme examples show. That's what I meant by the veneer is thin. The veneer is partly what we have the luxury to do without fully realizing the significance of it that makes the next generation what it is. One example that comes to mind. It's only recently that humans have lived long enough to see their grandchildren grow up. When I see the impact that grandparents have on the development of their grandchildren, it is huge. If a collapse shortens lifespan that advantage will be lost.

In the 60 Minutes Australia video posted previously, the woman says "we look at the development of language what happens if you don't get language up to a critical period and that critical period that is I think now generally accepted that if you haven't got language by about 5, you're not going to get language at all."

There is probably also a critical period for other basic functions. If people have never had a chance to do productive work by a certain age, chances are they never will. If people haven't learned to form healthy relationships with members of the opposite sex by a certain age, probably they never will. If people haven't become part of a healthy social group by a certain age, probably they never will. And so on.

It's the long period of lack of productive work in the US that is most concerning in my opinion. If someone turns 40 and has never spent a day in his life doing the hard work that is required to keep a civilization running (because it's being done by agricultural machines, being done in Asia, etc.), I don't think that person will be able to come up to speed if it becomes necessary. Decades is too long to counterfeit money and think the tooth fairy will bring the necessary goods.

As far as other related issues, I think this demonstrates the covid lockdowns were a bad idea, particularly for specific age groups (teens, for example). It's another example of the monkeys flying 747s.

They came too suddenly to be educated and for the knowledge of how to keep the Western way of life alive. And so these people have increased and now they have taken over power and so now we're in the hands of barbarians. They have no idea of how our society came to be and what is necessary to keep it going. And they're fiddling with the controls. You might think of a monkey flying a 747. They have no idea what they are doing and this is not going to end well with the barbarians at the controls.

As far as sy's quote on the fate of the financial system, the S&P 500 price pattern has continued to evolve as a crash setup. I'm trying to consider all possibilities. Maybe it will be as bad as he says and maybe this is the time. I don't know. My guess is that the 18 month top to secondary top pattern, if that's what it is, projects that any crash will be of longer duration than typically experienced in the past. Therefore, if the 1929 crash took 2 weeks or so, any upcoming crash might take somewhat longer, maybe 6-10 weeks.
