With all the research you do, John, I'm surprised you are unaware of the nightmarish conditions at Amazon. I was shocked to see you praise him. Bezos is a fraud. He took over he Washington Post just to bash Trump and he proceeded to slash wages, medical benefits, and retirement for the journalists and workers at the paper. He's a bad guy, John. It's like praising Stalin because he fought against Hitler.

Would these employees be better off if they were unemployed?

They would be better off if the businesses they owned or formerly worked at had not been run out of business by Amazon. Next you'll be defending Walmart.

business. Or how about Fedex, putting the Post Office out of
business. Or how about word processors, putting all those secretaries

Well, since you asked, all of these events have added up to a rise in obesity, poor health, higher shipping rates(ever sent a letter overseas with FedEx?), and mass unemployment. So,yeah, these aren't good things. I guess you are playing 4D chess and trying to say that Bezos and his Amazon genocide machine are really bad for humanity.

That's actually good, albeit surprising, statement from Bezos. Nice to hear. Corporations of other nations happily lookout for the interests of their parent country, but most US companies are not like that. They seem so mercurial they would happily sell the US down the river if it meant a couple extra bucks.
