As long as the people in power are profiting (I'm sure there are Republicans in on this, as well), there is absolutely no incentive to end the Ukrainian conflict. So it drags on, causing maximum financial suffering for the American people, and maximum physical suffering for the Ukrainian people. We could have put pressure on either side to end the conflict quickly, but the ugly truth is the American government doesn't WANT it to end.

Between Coofid and how obvious this is, it makes guys like us wonder if most of the people here can accurately assess the signs of the times. Sorta sad, to be honest, that most won't listen and follow the obvious facts and conclusions.

I'm interested in how you think the US can end the Ukraine war. Huge sanctions have been placed on Russia and have not changed its behavior at all. The only thing I can think of would be to try to force Ukraine to hand over the territory that Russia has seized. Is that what you are proposing? Keeping in mind that Ukrainians don't favor that outcome.

in 2019, the Chinese Communist declared war on the world when covid was still confined to Wuhan province. the Chinese decided to keep it confined to Wuhan province, but also took steps to spread it to hundreds of countries around the world.
by spring 2020, covid had spread like wildfire to many countries around the world. but in china, covid was under control in wuhan, and had not spread to other provinces.
this led the Chinese communist to brag that this proved the superiority of the Communist system over the capitalist system, since they conquered covid quickly and capitalist countries were still suffering.
so today, most of the countries in the world are recovering from covid, while China appears to be getting worse and worse every day. China's worsening situation is coming about because of several stupid decisions by dictator she ginping and the Chinese communist:
o the decision to infect the world was really stupid, and now it's backfiring.
o the Chinese Communists refused to import the powerful vaccines developed by Pfizer and moderna, because those are evil capitalist vaccines.
o China developed its own vaccine, but apparently it's not very good and people who are vaccinated have little or no protection.
o the Chinese communists have implemented a so-called zero covid policy. would this means is that if there's even one case in a city, the entire city may be locked down for weeks so that everyone can be tested. this is done nothing to stop the spread of covid but it has done a lot to cripple China's economy.
o large numbers of people in most countries of the world have developed an immunity to covid, either because they've had vaccines or because they've actually had covid or both. but thanks to the stupid policies of the Chinese communist, most Chinese people have had no exposure to covid, and so we can expect over to continue to spread across the country.

I don't make anything up, and indeed, I couldn't possibly write the previous post based on my personal knowledge or imagination, since I have no personal knowledge of what's going on in china.
due to my current situation, I spend 16 hours a day listening to the news - mostly CNBC, Bloomberg news, Fox News, and cnn. my last post was based on statements by people identified as experts on these new shows. and I only quote experts when what they're saying makes sense to me, based on the knowledge I've accumulated writing thousands of articles over the last 20 years.
