Wait until you see Trump's replacement. You will like him a lot less. The new figurehead will be more ruthless because he will know that he has to be.
Life proceeds as normal for most people.
We haven't seen anything yet. It's maybe 2nd inning of what will probably go into extra innings.

The Bottom or the 9th...

The Republicans haven't got near an election victory where abortion is anywhere near the ballot. Guns, containment, a solid economy and voting rights against tax breaks for the rich, deficit spending and weaponizing the government won't help either. Trump is running a personality cult, no one seems to be able to take his place, he is aging out, diverting money to his legal woes and his mind is going ga ga. So, not ridiculous.
If the crisis mood was entered with September 11 2001, the country has had enough of the high tension. They tried a war for oil, rebelled against the first black president, and got to see what happens when you elect a bigot. I'll stick with the timing. The only error I can see in the above perhaps is an apology owed to Lady Gaga.

What an absolute load of garbage!

Obama was an incompetent DEI-hire president (his failure to release his transcripts proves it) who gouged back open racial wounds that had been steadily healing for decades. He humiliated the United States with his apology tour, cozied up to terrorist regimes (Iran immediately comes to mind), did his best to ruin health care for everyone, and filled the bureaucracy with like-minded nihilistic ideologues. He and his simple-minded (read her "dissertation") wife openly demonstrated their hate for America at every turn. His reign (sadly not over yet) will go down as a very dark period in U.S. history.

His successor was a successful businessman who loves his country and literally gave up everything to save her. Under his leadership we regained world respect (no wars, anyone notice?), the economy roared, would-be illegal aliens tended to stay away, and working people who actually contribute to the economy felt hope again. No one who has not been assassinated has lost as much as Trump as a result of assuming the presidency. In trying to save this country, he has incurred the wrath of those taking advantage of the working class, and they will stop at nothing to keep him from assuming power again.

Now you know the truth.

From Matt Taibbi:
Half the country has been conned into looking at the recent lawfare craze in isolation, not as the last stages of a long-developing drift toward autocracy started decades ago by Wilson’s former boss. The twist that sent the Dick Cheney revolution to new heights was a rebrand. When we switched post-9/11 focus from Islamic terror to Trump and “Domestic Violent Extremism,” left-liberal America suddenly embraced every form of overreach it once opposed. Now, chickens are coming home to roost. Once we started ignoring laws to pursue terror suspects in the early 2000s, it became inevitable the reflex would return to infect domestic politics. Trump accelerated that process, and if the cackling of someone like Wilson doesn’t remind you of how this authoritarian slide started, nothing will. It’s a straight line from there to here:

Baltimore bridge rebuild could take up to 10 years.

We've become such a diverse nation that can no longer build things anymore let alone maintain them.

Transition

Post by Bob Butler »

Most everybody here is really into either the red or blue perspective. We could merrily argue on about our worldviews being correct indefinitely. Not clear that the country as a whole is in the same place. No one is dying of Covid anymore, so you go to your job without concern. Cops aren’t committing murder anymore, so no need to protest or attack the protestors out of bigotry. The insurgents are meeting the justice system without our help, unless we’re picked for a jury. When Trump calls for a massive rally with possible violence at a trial or indictment, no one comes. The various Trump scams- business, university, charity, golf clubs - have been or are being addressed. Abortion and family planning haven’t been addressed yet, or gerrymandering, but the election is getting closer.

I just think most people are getting tired of the constant back and forth and would rather go back to work. Thus, crisis ending. A high is generally due next. I can see space and global warming infrastructure on deck. This doesn’t mean extreme partisans won’t voice their partisanship anymore. It just means a lot of the yelling and screaming might well fade.

We’ll see.

Unless the vax kills you.

The never did and defunding the police now means murder, robbery, and rape are as common as the air we breathe. American cities have become violent hellholes.

The insurgents are meeting the justice system without our help, unless we’re picked for a jury.
People get shorter sentences for rape and kidnapping.
When Trump calls for a massive rally with possible violence at a trial or indictment, no one comes. The various Trump scams- business, university, charity, golf clubs - have been or are being addressed.
Who needs gerrymandering when the Democrats can simply ballot stuff or digitally alter election results?
Abortion and family planning haven’t been addressed yet, or gerrymandering, but the election is getting closer.
Soon gulags will take the place of clinics.
I just think most people are getting tired of the constant back and forth and would rather go back to work. Thus, crisis ending. A high is generally due next.
Yes, the taxpayer won't survive much longer, but at least the illeagal migrants will be fat, happy, and healthier than ever with free healthcare that American taxpayers can only dream of.
I can see space and global warming infrastructure on deck.
Never let a crisis go to waste.

This doesn’t mean extreme partisans won’t voice their partisanship anymore. It just means a lot of the yelling and screaming might well fade.
Yeah, gulags are good for silencing dissent.
We’ll see.
Undoubtably.

Lies

Hmm. The estimates for the bridge rebuild is four to five years. The vax hasn’t killed me. Crime is down. There is no need to gerrymander in Massachusetts.

Do conservatives have to lie to counter program?
