Does anyone else wonder at the fanaticism of Gaza dwellers? Much as those squatting in Syria's "safe zone". Were I to know of Israelis' fierce defense of their home land, military might and penchant for surprise attacks, I would flee to safety.
What is required to present women and children as front line shields? Fire balloons to burn forests? Who would expect acts of unprovoked aggression to remain unanswered? Delusion run rampant. The inevitable response will bring devastation.

And to address the content of your post: Youthful badly-parented idiots egged on by power-mad somewhat older "gang leaders" (considerably older brothers or young-ish uncles) are capable of nearly infinite atrocity.

..but that energy will be expended eventually. And likely catastrophically. Or well,.. learning without remembering is a very difficult process.
