** 15-May-2021 World View: Hostility to Israel and Biden

This morning there was a panel of journalists on the BBC discussing
the Israel-Palestine situation. The hostility to Israel is enormous,
and not surprising.

One person said, "I'm going to say something very controversial.
[long pause] If Donald Trump were president, this would not have
happened."

Instead of the usual screaming, this comment was met with silence,
which I interpreted as tacit agreement.

According to these journalists, Biden was hoping to avoid having to
deal with the Mideast, since he wanted to focus on getting a new
nuclear agreement with Iran, and ending the sanctions. This would now
be very controversial, since Iran is funding Hamas. But the
journalists are blaming Biden for the Mideast war, saying that he has
been ignoring the Palestinian problem in favor of the Iran policy.

So the narrative is growing that the Mideast war is Israel's fault,
and it's also Biden's fault because Biden is not holding back Israel,
and forcing Israel to agree to a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the war is continuing to escalate, and will continue to do
so no matter what Biden does.

Ah, no. You're wrong.

Why is talking with you always have to be a case of reinventing the wheel?
What wheel?

Oh, you mean the one the Founders invented, right?

Yeah, that definitely needs to be re-invented. Otherwise, we're headed towards a world where Brawndo is "essential" for life and Dwayne Elizondo Herbert Mountain Dew Camacho is President.

Okay, then. Tell me.

Do you believe that America a unique nation, to where it cannot be just another part of Britain? If so, what do you believe makes America unique?

America is more than mere ideas. it is also based on Protestant, English culture and English ethnicity. Race matters as much as beliefs--just as the Jews. The first English to set foot on American soil were not really colonists, they were settlers on a largely unspolied land. What happened was a natural drift away from England based on parlimentartian democracy. Americans demanded more freedoms than even the English.

Why doesn't democracy take root in Africa or the Middle East?

I'm still reading about the recent hack of a pipeline that supplies close to half the Eastern Seaboard's gasoline. They're already implementing rationing, with skyrocketing prices and gas lines. Imagine what a full-scale Chinese attack could do, complete with backdoors into all the electronics they've sold us over the years. It would cripple our ability to hit back for months.

Hopefully, we'll learn something from this, but the way things are going right now, I personally doubt it. It'll be forgotten in a couple weeks.

They used to say the same thing back in the 1960s. In those days, the
people with "any intellect at all" were left-wing college professors.
