I had that thought also. More have been going backwards for some time but it's only been recently that the disconnect between the man on the street and the performance of the stocks that sell to the man on the street is beginning to come back into line. When I think about a company like Boeing, whose stock price is doing well, I think that most uses of planes involve a more narrow group of the population; the people who spend most of the money on airline fare are not the same people who provide most of the revenue for Wal-Mart.aedens wrote:My first thought was the 80-20 rule and locally talking to folks they missed the context of the message as a few others forwarded to me in advance on how more will go backwards...

While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

One party with crayons build tanks and air craft carriers and the other with crayons makes us pay for beer, cigs and health care for others.Higgenbotham wrote:I had that thought also. Normal people are truly sick if it. Defense is one thing and as we know point blank the guns are pointing at us and not out.
Tired of retreads and retards. We covered it already from triffins to sdr we seen some time ago. As we note swaps and
stability funds are needed since truly these politicos are numb. As the front page indicates today some bad guys are gunning for
bad guys living here. Nothing shocking....

United Technologies stock is doing fine, and it can continue to do so independent of how much the man on the street suffers. And as long as the man on the street isn't dead, paying for the health care of others can be a thriving business - provided they can keep the currency and the bond market afloat. Another thought along those lines would be - building things that kill people and free health care didn't keep the Soviet Union going forever.aedens wrote:One party with crayons build tanks and air craft carriers and the other with crayons makes us pay for beer, cigs and health care for others.

The market is about at the 50 day and 100 day averages. It does not have to go down much more to pass below the 200 day moving average. Looks like traders take that as a time to sell.

Sorry I can't quote the source, but I recall reading, --- that toward the end in ancient Rome, people in power would put up attractive faces --- actors ( puppets) for the people to support which could be easily controlled, so the the powers that be could get their way. ------- interestingJohn wrote:What political party does Barack Obama belong to?
In response to your video of the uninformed as to which party Obama belonged.

Re: Financial topics
If we go down about 3% more we get to the 200 day moving average. Going down across this has marked the start of some big declines.

This is the 80 week moving average with some added doodles. Comparing the 80 week and the 2000 and 2007 bubbles, stocks really haven't come down much.vincecate wrote:If we go down about 3% more we get to the 200 day moving average. Going down across this has marked the start of some big declines.

Looking at how far Bernanke has swung that bear above the 80 week moving average, I would have to think he is getting mighty hungry. Especially given the fact that he was hungry enough to get well below the 80 week when Bernanke briefly stopped swinging.jcsok wrote::Along a similar vein, a friend and I were discussing the state of the world ponzi scheme, and he used an analogy that Bernanke had a bear by the tail and was swinging it in circles above his head, but he's getting tired, and when he can't swing the bear anymore, its going to eat him (us).aedens wrote:I think Tiberius said it best.....

As we discussed words will be misinterpreted easily since normalcy bias has no fulcrum in reality
and this came from a concerned friend.

Compare the blue boxed areas. Both have a similar number of days and shape of the steep inclines leading up to the blue boxed areas.
