Re: Financial topics
a, I read the unedited comment last night and suppose I could have said, "We really need to stop following people like Greenspan, Bernanke and Dennis Rodman." But Rodman hasn't been one of the 3 main people who has been involved for the past quarter century of history's most intense bubble blowing episode, so it doesn't really fit very well. Though if Obama were to instead withdraw Yellen's name and appoint Dennis Rodman to head the Fed I would applaud the choice. Rodman could throw money directly into the streets and somebody more deserving than the cronies Yellen will give it to could pick it up and maybe put it to good use.aedens wrote:"What is QE?" While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

Re: Financial topics
Chomsky spoke of 80% of the population being kept occupied with useless things like professional sports, while the remaining 20% is occupied with issues of the day. In that respect, Dennis Rodman and Alan Greenspan could be considered comparable. They are both media generated cult personalities. Rodman was involved in useless entertainment while Greenspan, who was also expected to be an entertainer, was involved in something serious that was treated as entertainment.

Re: Financial topics
Rumor from 2 seemingly reliable sources is QE will be increased to $100-120 billion within the next 3 months. Perhaps as soon as this week.
