Note that there are off-grid solar powered charging stations for the Tesla electric cars that are advertised to keep working during a zombie apocalypse. Electric cars might run for many years without trouble. Of course if the SHTF the solar pannels will be stolen from those stations.

Many years, I would agree with. I was thinking maybe as long as 50 years. The last vehicle or piece of agricultural equipment to stop running might be in a low population density oil rich area, like on a Wyoming or North Dakota ranch. The large cities should be shut down and stripped clean long before then.

from our local pattern recognized until data suggest other.

This was known in circa 3130 bce as noted in 1989 by engineer scientist Maurice Cotterell who found the way of calculating the
duration of long-term magnetic reversals on the Sun. Using this knowledge he was able to break the codes.
The biological effects are beyond speculation.
