I have a friend who's in big trouble for two reasons.

First, she had to go into the hospital for a couple of days,
and she just got hit with a bill for $10,000, even though
she has health insurance.

The second reason is that she bought a condo about five years ago.
She paid 250, and now it's worth 175. This one really pisses me off,
because I told her at the time that the real estate crash was far from
over. But she said, no, prices have already fallen, and so they're
going up again. People stick to their little myths and end up
screwing themselves. Totally pisses me off.

Oh, there's a third reason - she's unemployed.

And this is what's really bad about Obamacare. You pay for
health insurance so that if you get sick in the middle of
bad times, at least your health will be cared for. But
Obamacare is almost totally useless for her, and for
a lot of other people as well.

Side note -- generally speaking much of medical field is a scam. With proper diet etc. much of the medical and pharmaceutical activities could be eliminated and have a healthier population. Totally disagree. I've had a weight problem my whole life and I know
for a fact that weight has nothing to do with "proper diet."
(However, high-cost diet plans are indeed a total scam.) Furthermore,
medications have lowered my blood pressure from astronomical levels to
normal levels, and have almost certainly prevented a heart attack.

Notice I said MUCH not all. I have known people who could have avoided medical care if they had made the appropriate changes in diet, and have known people who have died or became crippled because of medical care.
