according to an epidemiologist from the firm airfinity interviewed on Bloomberg TV, covid is now spreading rapidly in China, overwhelming the health system (hospitals and crematoria ) in Beijing and Shanghai and in cities across the country. she says that they're expecting two peaks in the next few months. there are now something like 1 million to 1.5 million cases, which she says will peak at 4 million in mid-January. then she expects a second peak to occur in mid March, also with 4 million cases. she points out that the official numbers from China are not to be trusted, which is something we all knew anyway.

It seems the heart of this story is about men in the Pakistani and Indian governments calling each other names. Terrorist, Butcher, etc. The name calling is escalating on both sides into accusations of past or ongoing bad actions, and turning a blind eye to such. Now, a party leader, has chosen to "remind" everyone that Pakistan is a nuclear power.Tom Mazanec wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 8:21 am HomeIndia NewsPakistan's Ruling Party Leader Threatens India With "Nuclear War": Report

Does it make a difference that this politician is a woman? I know that both cultures tend to be more patriarchal, and that both can be, in some instances, less than deferential to women. So how does this play over there? How does the average Pakistani man feel having a woman rattle a saber on his behalf? How does the average Indian man feel having a woman rattle a saber at him? At his entire country? Or, are things that westernized? Is she just a politician saying the words the base wants to hear?

The deciding point in this war will come when China decides Russia is more of a liability than an asset. They have their own problems, Putin can't be helping.FullMoon wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 12:03 pmThat's interesting, thanks Tom.Tom Mazanec wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:47 pm China Could Be Preparing For Full Scale WAR - Chris Martenson

China is doing the sensible early preparations for war he says, such as securing energy and food, together with clamping down heavily on domestic information and creating a xenophobic population with the narrative of bad outside people who've historically oppressed them,
Interesting that they're rapidly reducing oil dependence from sea routes and supplementing with Russian oil. I wonder if those pipelines will be safe, as we're seeing lots of Russian pipelines mysteriously get damaged or destroyed.
Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Understand that China is probably taking advantage of and using Russia, as they are apt to do with anybody. They are getting cheap oil and are helping test the Western powers. Also, they're getting Russia weakened so that Siberia will be that much easier to take. Western powers are using up large caches of armaments and getting their economies undermined as political divisions weaken their resolve. Probably Putin is a pawn and his successor will be nasty. History has seen VERY much worse dictators in that country.Guest wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 12:43 pmThe deciding point in this war will come when China decides Russia is more of a liability than an asset. And none of those dictators were thermonuclear Superpowers. At most, Stalin had a few Hellbombs when he died, not thousands.FullMoon wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 1:40 pmUnderstand that China is probably taking advantage of and using Russia, as they are apt to do with anybody. Do people not know what an IFR of 0.5% is, still, at this point? Ioannidis pre covid study, revisited again, the nothing burger (from October):John wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 12:19 pm Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Yes, it was the flu. No, no one should be or ever have been worried about it from a societal or generational point of view. Theplan was to fearmonger people into taking the real bioterror weapon, the jab.A new study on Covid-19’s infection fatality rate (IFR) by age from a team led by Dr. John Ioannidis, the world’s most-cited physician, estimates that Covid’s IFR in the pre-vaccine era was under 0.1% for those under 70—even lower than previously believed.
Dr. Ioannidis et. al. found that across 31 national seroprevalence studies in the pre-vaccine era, the median IFR was 0.0003% at 0-19 years, 0.003% at 20-29 years, 0.011% at 30-39 years, 0.035% at 40-49 years, 0.129% at 50-59 years, and 0.501% at 60-69 years. This comes out to 0.035% for those aged 0-59 and 0.095% for those aged 0-69.
