China has confirmed that the balloon is theirs, but denied that it is a spy balloon. Going by this statement, we can limit ourselves to three explanations: (1) the CCP is lying; (2) the CCP is telling the truth and there happen to be really stupid people within their ranks, as only a really stupid person would think sending a Chinese balloon of any kind over American soil without notifying Washington is a good idea; or (3) the CCP is telling the truth, it did notify Washington in advance, and Washington is lying. Take your pick.

CCP is lying and they don't care because they know so many US pols are on the payroll, among other things. When have they ever cared about stealing or lying? It seems to me that they were trying to provoke a reaction possibly to get a war started, or at least cause greater chaos to get the new, multipolar world more clearly defined.

Crazy as this sounds, who would have imagined in 1914 the tragedy that was amount to befall Europe, one I'd argue they never truly recovered from?
It's funny that this is the proof that makes demographics irrelevant: war. What else makes demographics irrelevant? The same people who fund all the wars, the global elite, whose plan is always depop and technocracy.

Gay boys like Zeihan (always the perfect useful tool of the elites, since they have no investment in the future by definition) look at replacement rates via foreigners into countries like the US or Europe, which means they've already collapsed. This is by far the dumbest part of their materialist analysis. The countries are already long gone in any meaningful way that a country can be defined.

Everyone on the board knows this. If you're old and you just want to ride into the sunset, that's fine, but stop talking about "Europe" and "America" as if it's some meaningful thing for anyone younger than 60 years old at this point. They are unrecognizable jokes for anyone looking for a future.
Exactly.

Information about the balloon was known before it was exposed by a media outlet. Governments don't lie, they disclose information as needed. This event showed both sides trying to play it down but it was played up by media and the public. Balloons like this are known to have been flown over before not only here but elsewhere. There was nothing novel about this event. What is new is the public reaction to it.

A relatively small event being overinflated and stoking nationalist fervor against a perceived enemy. During a tense time in the crisis period between two opposing powers, both of whom are in crisis.
This very public event probably could be seminal in demarcating the beginning of something later to be named.
A kind of Cold War that's worse than the last one because both sides are so intertwined and yet have increasingly unresolvable differences with increasing stress and chaos. As chaos increases, small things uncontrollable by national leadership can serve as the match to start the great fire.
