Black mayors of cities like New York,
Chicago, and Los Angeles are all meeting
right now in Washington DC to beg the
Biden administration for help in dealing
with migrants and crime, according to
Fox News.
Even Lori Lightfoot, who is in the final
days of being Chicago's mayor, is doing
a complete U-turn, and is now demanding
that the police do more to stop crime.
Well, no. Not really. The urban
masses and their elected leaders are
doubling down.

have otherwise been starved of
opportunities in their own

And now the urban rabble are whining
and complaining that there are no
stores in their "community".
Actually, what I said was completely
correct. Here is a lengthier excerpt
from what Lori Lightfoot said at the
African American Mayors Association
Conference in Washington, D.C., on
Friday:
“As Democrats, if we do not speak
the truth about violent crime in our
cities, we will be the worse for it.
I come to this conversation as a
former federal prosecutor. I come to
this as a former defense attorney, I
am the sister of a returning
resident. But I know that there are
people in my city that are wreaking
havoc every day and need to be off
the streets. That’s reality.
What do we say to, not only the
victims of crime, but the people who
are terrified about crimes in their
neighborhood, most of whom look like
us. If we say, ‘yeah, the police
department is spending all this time
and resources to arrest, put a case
on,’ and the judges and the
prosecutors say, ‘you know what?
We’re going to let you out on
electronic monitoring to wreak havoc
again.’
If somebody musters the courage to
come forward and identify the person
who just shot up their neighborhood,
and then sees Pookie walking bold as
day back on the street two days
later, what does that say to them?
You’re telling them that the
criminal justice system doesn’t care
about victims and witnesses. And if
we don’t call that out every single
day with these prosecutors and with
these judges, many of whom don’t
live in our cities and don’t care
about what’s happening, then we are
going to lose an opportunity to
advocate for the victims and the
witnesses and the residents who just
want and deserve peace.

Since Lori Lightfoot is a particularly
cynical, racist politician, we can be
pretty sure that some game is going on.
Her speech, quoted above, is a serious
challenge to the Loony Left and the
Socialist Democrats, and she should be
commended for speaking truth to power.
But we have to remember two things.
First, her term as mayor will end in a
couple of weeks, and her successor has
already disavowed her reforms. This
means that she'll never be called on to
implement any reforms to the police or
prosecutors, so in that sense, what she
says is completely meaningless, except
for symbolism.
And second, she and the other black
Democrat mayors are on a junket to
Washington DC to ask for money from the
Biden administration. So this should be
seen as simply the usual attempt of a
politican to collect money for
themselves and their cronies.
In fact, with Lightfoot leaving the
mayor's job, where is she going? I'll
bet it will be to some lobbying job in
Washington to collect money for herself
and her cronies. So she may already
have begun working at her new job.
Having said all that, I believe this
signals that we're at the peak of
Socialist Democrat left-wing lunacy, and
that the pendulum has begun to swing
back, albeit slowly.
