Hmm…. I’m anticipating more of a rejection of what Trump is doing. The tariff based economics, the cutting of services that various people want, the lack of due process, the lack of respect for the constitution, the excess transactional corrupt deals with the elites, the lies… Trump is already backing down in some areas. His desiring to pretend all his ideas are good ones will prove problematic.

Internationally, Putin is loosing, Xi has economic problems, and the Middle East is messy enough that I won’t make predictions.

Again, the greater the trouble in a crisis, the greater the shift in values as it concludes. Trump is creating a lot more demonstrations and more vehement ones than Biden ever did. I get that the people don’t much like either party. They seem to reject either party after giving each a short shot at it. I’d like to see a major shift in values. A better balance between self reliance and trade. More respect for rule of law. A greater emphasis on serving the people rather than the elites or corporations. Less prejudice against religions, cultures and racial groups. This will start as we approach the mid terms and take full form after the Democrats take power again in2028 in response to the current administration’s unpopularity. We saw independence, lack of slavery, regulation of the economy and containment after the prior crises. Something similar?

One interesting editorial by CNN has the younger Democrats rejecting the old leadership and do nothing policies. It hasn’t gone far yet, but we’ll have to keep watch.

That's a good post, Bob. You've got good ideas. A majority of Americans would like to live in a country with all the good things that you described. I kinda thought that we already did, but it's just a matter of perspective maybe. Like to consider our human condition as always needing to strive towards a greater perfection. And I was also under the impression that it was still a process that we are undergoing. But at what point are we now? Having travelled and lived abroad, I'm just going to stay here with the assumption that not only is it the best country in the world but also where I come from and belong. Does this country have lots of problems? A long list we could make but I personally have a list of problems and both myself and the country are tackling them.
But in respect to the position that we're currently facing as we near the climax of the crisis, I think John's theory together with Navigator's, are trending true and what you (Bob) talk about are what's already been happening. This country has had rapid and impressive gains in my lifetime. But also, many things were either over or underdone. International issues creates complexity that dwarfs national issues. We're talking about a global crisis unseen since the preWW2 times. And so national issues will essentially be remediated immediately to galvanize public support. Now that's a crisis for you!

I too was concerned about the site being down.
I tried to contact Navigator, but found his "comingstorms" email didn't work.
I think some of us (including Jason X) should exchange contact info in case site is disabled.
I'm really not sure this site is influential enough to merit a hacking shutdown, but it's not out of the question. I value the opinions of this community (gag..., even Butler), and would like to stay in touch.

As I understand it, the site was attacked by Bots, and it overwhelmed the server.

It has been sorted out now, and the site restored (obviously). I believe action has been taken to prevent such an issue in the future.

Also, I just checked my email at: comingstorms2025@gmail.com and it seems to be working ok. Spotty, please send me another email to this address to see if it is indeed working, I will be checking.

I remember John talking about the bots from China that he kept fending off. Having no practical experience in this issue it sounded like a video game. It's probably part of the grey zone warfare that they've been practicing.

There is so much on this site that talks about a war with China, what will occur when that happens, and how to prepare for it, that I have no doubt that this site is on the radar of the China bot/disinformation campaign.

Kudos to John's son for handling this and getting the site back up!

This guy explains briefly the grey zone warfare tactics used against us. Shutting down this site is beneficial for maintaining their propaganda campaign against people who don't understand what's going on. Keeping this site active helps educate people about what's going on and why.

Thank you guys, Jason, for keeping "John's" engine of life and understanding going. For a while there I didn't know quite to do or understand with it being attacked and all. Your thoughts, discussions and words - all these years - are a beacon of hope and light in the darkness of the world. Again, awesome to hear ya'll again.

The US has basically stopped supplying Ukraine with Artillery shells. But the Europeans have opened and expanded shell production facilities and are making up for what the US stopped sending. So Ukraine will be able to fight on.

The Russians recently have made some comparatively significant gains around Nova Poltava, and Ukrainian front lines around Pokrovsk and Berestok are being flanked. The Russians are finding ways to improve their tactics. Currently I have been reading a lot about the use of dirt bike riding front line infiltration tactics which seem to be giving the Ukrainians more difficulty than I would have thought.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is facing a manpower crisis. Most of their Soldiers are in their 30s and 40s. The 20 year old's apparently have to be forcibly drafted, and even then have little stomach for actually fighting. My guess is that they don't have any memory/experience of living under USSR (Russian) domination while the older soldiers do and thus are fighting hard.

An armistice or peace deal with Putin is folly, and my hope is that the Ukrainians can continue to hurt the Russians as much as possible.

I've heard it talked about that the Ukraine war is a form of China war proxy in the sense that they might be watching the endurance and testing of they could get away with an extended non-direct war with the US. If they see us losing interest in maintaining the Ukrainians, we might also lose interest in helping the Taiwanese in an extended standoff. We're kinda stuck it seems.

In Communist China, it appears the previously untouchable leader Xi is quickly on his way out and a replace government system and philosophy is being considered. Because it's rather sudden and no clear direction is showing itself yet, we don't know if it's good news or not. But we're still on a confrontational trajectory with fault lines ready to rupture.

People should be paying attention to Solar activity. The sun is currently showing activity that modern science hasn't monitored before. The Carrington event would have knocked us out just as well as an EMP. Maybe we'll forge a global war when global civilization is knocked back to pre-electrical time.
