I can assure you that it's the criminals in your generation that have
screwed the rest of us. If Boomers made a mistake, it's because we
didn't realize in time how evil you and the crooks in your generation
were.

Xers don't run crap in this country, and that is way boomers set up everything. Boomers refuse to take responsibility and placed the young in a state of arrested development refusing to allow the young to enter proper adulthood. US policy has been carried out in the absence of Xers "evil" the policy solely reflect the "goodness" of boomers, that is why the US has come under humiliation to humiliation over the past 25. Precisely because of the absence of Xer nihilism and evil in the decision making.

First, I'm an Xer. I've always been critical of Boomers, starting with their propensity to streak, both literally and figuratively (mentioned here). But as the baton slowly gets handed to the Xers things have gone from bad, to worse, to Oh My God. The "Gen X Debacles" I've been posting illustrate mismanagement that was unthinkable 5-10 years ago.

I wish the Millennials would get into the faces of the Boomers and Xers more regarding how badly they screw things up. At my recent workplace, the Boomer and Xer management treated the Millies like mice running through a maze being electroshocked while they hunted for cheese that they were told exists, but doesn't. The Millies only stop hunting for cheese long enough to ingratiate their overseers who are administering the electroshocks.

Bernanke mentioned in that video I just posted that he thinks the economy is pretty good. Well, it is for him and most of his generation, but it's decidedly not for most under the age of 30.

Specific example from 2017 workplace:

I told new Millie recruits "This is a dead end job."

Xer female manager reported me to Xer female manager in a personnel function. I got called into her office. She told me, "Don't say that this is a dead-end job. We don't want the bright eyed bushy tailed recruits to think that." I replied that it is a dead end job. She repeated, "Don't say it."

Xers administer a lot of functions in this country now. With regard to my previous post, the Boomers built the maze that the Millies run through, but the Xers administer the electroshocks. The Boomers see no evil and hear no evil, claiming plausible deniability. For example, the Boomer 3 levels up from the Millie staff has never spoken to any of them and won't. Boomers managers definitely refuse to take responsibility in any organization I've seen operate.

Of course I know you're an Xer. I used the phrase "the criminals in
your generation" to make it clear that I was referring to the

CH86 has a consuming vitriolic hatred of Boomers of a kind that I
associate with the most evil of Xers. I have no doubt that if CH86
had the power, he would use that power to inflict the maximum amount
of destructive harm possible on Boomers and, in so doing, he would be
inflicting the maximum amount of self-destructive harm on himself.
That's why we refer to the "destructiveness and self-destructiveness
of Generation-X."

And yes, I do recall our discussion about streaking. As I recall,
your argument was that streaking by Boomers was just as bad a crime as
defrauding millions of people by Xers. Sorry, I never bought that
argument. Streaking was a prank, something like Janet Jackson's
wardrobe malfunction, while the financial crisis cost millions of
people their homes and their life savings. Not much of a comparison.

I shouldn't have put your response in the quote. I was mostly addressing that to CH86 because it was evident he thinks I'm a Boomer. I've sounded like a Boomer a lot recently. While I believe a lot of the behavior of Boomers has harmed Xers (generally), none of it rose to the level of being a valid excuse for the Xer debacles being witnessed.

Back to the stock market. I've decided the market is too unclear (to me) to justify a short position this week. Of course, it may be very clear to someone else that the market will be going down in the near future. The way I see the market now is, without the tax cuts being passed, the market would have fallen starting December 19. It would have then made a lower high into the date it made the actual high. After that, there would have been a 1987 style crash instead of the 12% drop that actually occurred.

Therefore I will be resuming normal activities and less frequent posting.
