Yes, the cowards will hide out and brave will die. Not much will be left over that is worth breeding.

If that's the case it might be the end of the world entirely, so no biggie - life was always about more than being on this rock revolving around the sun - always has been.

Bitcoin doesn't exist without the internet.

The internet depends on undersea cables that could easily be destroyed by natural or man made forces.

Show me your bitcoin when the grid goes down.

Yes it does, in mesh networks and even ham radios. This is known. Let's do our homework.
How are mesh networks powered?
I think they are powered mostly off the grid. So grid goes down, mesh networks go down.

Came across this article today:

https://www.thecentersquare.com/indiana ... 25e2c.html

Pretty frightening stuff, but it leads to some thoughts if this trend continues;

- Most, if not all, of the insurance companies in this country will go bankrupt in the next two years or so. Paying off all those life insurance policies will deplete all their reserves of cash and whatever else they hold.
- As the insurance companies increasingly realize their situation, and flounder around trying to survive, they will raise premiums to sky high levels.
- Insurance companies will raise rates on all kinds of policies, not just life insurance. Look for car insurance and mortgage insurance rates to soar.
- What is the ripple effect of this through the rest of the economy?

Yes, this was disseminated yesterday morning by ZH.

It could have effects that are unknown, such as just not paying it out, period. I always thought that that's what would happen in the next crash for those companies claiming they'll make sure you lose NOTHING if you invest with them, just give them money for a smaller upside now.

America and the UK are both well on their way to becoming third world. If you want to know what America will look like in three years, you need only look at France.

The true state of how bad France has become isn’t really reported outside of the country much. There are huge no-go areas for the French police . The African communities regularly take over an area and it becomes a slum as indigenous french move out. France is on a road to nowhere unless they change things radically. Parts of France have already collapsed and are no longer French at all.

If you ever watch a series called Spiral ( I think it may still be on iPlayer) , it doesn’t over dramatise things.

France the only country where the politicians campaign for change every five years, the people then elect them on the basis of promised change and who then spend the next five years resisting those changes with strikes, riots, blockades and then blame someone else!
As Einstein said, if you keep doing the same thing and getting the same result, its the definition of madness. Plus ca change!

Do you think this all ends with large portions of the population dying off by famine/plague/war in the next 20 years?

IMHO, short answer is yes. I will put a more detailed response in the Theology thread giving some of my reasoning.
