They are still at who moved my cheese.
Pity the normalcy bias of scarce resources.
Hold on a god damned minute. I was in college in 1976/77 and the 'word' that was being floated at that time was that 'automation' would give us more leisure time, more wealth, more of everything. But it has not turned out that way, has it?
So why is it that after 50 years of automating everything from accounting to parking meters, do people still rebel at the thought that now that we have reached a pretty high water mark in terms of productivity, there are millions with no income, no jobs, no home, no food, nothing, and worse, that they should receive 'nothing'. Why is that? And don't give me one your bullshit American rants either.

More of us were starving and homeless as all construction ceased from the prime rate shock.

As Volcker succinctly put it, “The standard of living of the average American worker has to decline.”

Thanks, as mentioned yesterday, of late I'm typically done and flat by 90 minutes into the NYSE session. This is all very short tern day trading, often 10 minutes or less. The goal is to take all gains and losses by 11 am New York time (the open is 9:30). Occasionally, I run over but typically finish early.

I suppose a statistician could calculate the probability this is due to chance by using a simple model of what's the chance that 361 coin flips would include greater than 276 heads.

According to that model, the probability this is due to chance is somewhere on the order of 1 in a septillion.

I believe that model vastly overestimates the probability this was due to skill. Though for sure there is some skill involved. Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep at this long enough to see if it can be reliably replicated month after month.

By the way, everything I did in the past 30 days could be done by somebody with 150K and a margin account.

Also, none of it was done using any computer aids. It was all done by reading news for a few minutes before the open, selecting about 10 stocks to watch and possibly trade based on the overnight news flow and watching order flow and price. Typically, I actually traded 2-4 stocks per session. It's very difficult to watch more than 10 or trade more than 4 simultaneously.

Don't get me started. You probably recall my most recent reference to who moved the cheese.
At my recent workplace, the Boomer and Xer management treated the Millies like mice running through a maze being electroshocked while they hunted for cheese that they were told exists, but doesn't. The Millies only stop hunting for cheese long enough to ingratiate their overseers who are administering the electroshocks.
Damn, I wish this would end.

Krista Glover, the wife of PGA Tour golfer Lucas Glover, was arrested and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest without violence in Point Vedra Beach, Fla. on Saturday after she allegedly attacked her husband and 62-year-old mother-in-law.

According to the incident report from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Krista, 36, had been drinking throughout the day and berated Lucas for missing the secondary cut at the Players Championship, calling him a ‘p---y’ and ‘loser.’

When police arrived, Krista and Lucas were arguing on the porch and she told deputies she was attacked by his mother, Hershey Hendley. Krista had no visible injuries while Lucas and Hendley had lacerations on their arms and Hendley also had blood on her clothes.

Lucas, 38, attempted to tell deputies there was no physical altercation so his wife of six years would avoid being arrested.

Hendley told the police that she tried to intervene while the couple argued in front of her and their two young children but Krista began to assault her.

When the officers took Krista into custody, she forcefully removed herself from the arresting officer and refused to enter the patrol car. Once inside the vehicle, she allegedly damaged the car by kicking the door and later attempted to get away when the two deputies loosened her handcuffs.

Per the report, Krista told the officers, “this is why cops get shot in the face. Wait till I talk to the judge, you will be f---ing fired over this.”

Krista was released from jail Sunday on $2,500 bond and has a court date of May 31.

If she is found guilty, she could spend one year in jail on each misdemeanor count.

Lucas, the 2009 U.S. Open champion at Bethpage, told deputies that whenever he plays a bad round of golf, Krista begins an altercation with him and tells him “how how he is a loser and p---y, how he needs to fire everyone and how he better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see the kids again,” the report said.

Lucas issued a statement regarding the incident on Tuesday via Twitter.

“On May 12, my wife and mother were involved in an argument to which the police were called,” he said. “Everyone is fine. Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter. We thank you for respecting our privacy as we work through this unfortunate situation.”

I'd never be able to make any money gambling with a Gen X female in proximity. I had to skip over that generation.

I went to my class reunion a few years ago. Our class president spent the whole night near the liquor dead drunk. His hair was mostly gray. I said, hey, I see you married a woman 10 years younger than you - those Generation X women are tough! I think I told him he earned that gray hair. He nodded and laughed. The conversation didn't start until I changed the subject.
