Or, more easily understood, what's the value of a stock that has negative earnings? Well, no matter how little cash earns, or whether cash was perceived to be "trash", a company that can't earn money is worth exactly zero. Well, maybe you can add in a little real estate and furniture and perhaps some equipment if you can get it sold.

It was campaign rhetoric. When the stock market was making new highs,
he talked about it to the press because he's running for reelection.
Same for tweeting. With the stock market falling, he no longer talks
about it. This has nothing to do with obsession. You've claimed that
he's "absolutely obsessed" with the stock market, but you've presented
no evidence whatsoever. Isn't this the same sort of behavior that
you're always criticizing in other people?

At press conferences, he bashes people who attack him, and praises
people who support him. That has nothing to do with "how he spends his
time." Once again, you've made a claim, but provided no evidence
at all except campaign rhetoric.

Incidentally, I do exactly the same thing. I'll add that over the
years I've dealt with hundreds (thousands?) of commenters, many of
them hostile, on the left, on the right, Russian trolls, Syrian
trolls, Iranian trolls, Chinese trolls, Burundi trolls, Zimbabwe
trolls, etc., etc., and except for occasionally getting a name or date
wrong, no one has ever found any "fake news." And by the way, this
isn't a left-right thing. People on the far right are just as idiotic
as people on the far left. Almost all people today are incredibly
ignorant -- many of them can't even read a map or understand
percentages -- and so they depend on their favorite ideologue crazy to
tell them what to believe. So I'm just like Trump. If the commenter
is respectful, then I'm respectful. If the commenter attacks me, that
I give it right back to him. And I enjoy it. It's fun, and I look
forward to it. I believe Trump does too.

Since day one, Trump has been successfully mocking and baiting the
mainstream media and the left, and it works every time. "Reporters"
on CNN say that Trump is "unglued, unravelling, uncontrollable" and
"the White House is in chaos." I could have heard exactly this same
thing in the first week of Trump's term. It's the same thing, over
and over again, week after week after week after week. Meanwhile,
Trump continues to accomplish his policy agenda (tax cuts, border
fence, etc., etc.) The chumps in the media fall for it every time.

The media are committed to defeating Trump in November. Let me give
you an example. On Wednesday, I watched a two-hour press conference
by Trump and several scientists and doctors on coronavirus. There
were probably over 100 questions and answers. On the BBC coverage,
the 100 questions were ignored, except for one. A reporter asked
Trump if using the phrase "Chinese virus" was racist. Trump said that
it wasn't racist at all, that he loved the Chinese people, and that
the CCP was accusing the US army of planting the virus in Wuhan, and
that he wasn't going to let them get away with that. He said that
instead of arguing with, he just used the phrase "Chinese virus."

But none of that was in the BBC coverage of the news coverage. It was
just that Trump is a racist.

I no longer believe that this is simple ideology. I believe that the
BBC is being paid to ignore the news and just repeat DNC press
releases. NPR rebroadcasts BBC news, so there's a contractual
arrangement with money flowing from NPR to BBC, and I believe that
repeating the DNC press releases is part of that contract. It happens
too often to be a simple error. And it would hardly be surprising, in
today's climate of massive fraud and corruption in government and
media.

I wrote about this during the impeachment hearings. I was sitting at
home in front of my computer, with the TV on. So I saw all five days
of testimony. Every day the same thing happened. The witnesses were
all called by the Democrats. Every one of these witnesses was forced
to admit, under Republican cross-examination, that they had no
evidence whatsoever.

Violence and threats of violence played a major role in impeachment
hearings. The Democrats' star witness Gordon Sondland was forced to
change his testimony. That occurred because Oregon Democratic
Rep. Earl Blumenauer and other Democrats called on anti-Trump
activists to attack Sondland's businesses. Sondland was forced to
change his testimony to support the Democrats because his businesses
and family were being threatened with violence, riots and
demonstrations, after Democrats led by Adam Schiff called on the
rioters to threaten Sondland.

But even so, Sondland was forced to back down under Republican
cross-examination. So at the end, not a single witness supported
the Democrats' charges. Not a single one.

Another witness was Jonathan Turley. He said that impeachment couldn't
be justified on the current record, and anti-Trump activists
threatened Turley's family with violence.

So what did the BBC report every day? After each day's testimony, I
would turn on the BBC, and I would hear the following:

"Today, Ambassador X gave explosive testimony that
Trump withheld aid from Ukraine until Ukraine started
investigating Joe and Hunter Biden."

This is what really shocked me, since this is the opposite of what
happened. Instead of reporting on what actually happened, the BBC
"reported" Democratic press releases. This happened every day.

This has been going on for three years. As I said, I no longer
believe that it's simple ideology. It happens too often. I believe
that the BBC is being paid off. And for all I know, maybe it's
happening with other countries. For example, is the BBC being paid
off by Macron or one of his enemies, or by Merkel or one of her
enemies? It's possible, since the BBC has no ethics or morals.

The Bloomberg news service announced, when Bloomberg himself was
running, that the news service would investigate and attack the
president, but not the Democrats, and they haven't retracted that
commitment. Today, Bloomberg gave $18 million to the Democrats, with
more to come. It's all about money, no ethics or morals.

On the other hand, I've posted over 6,000 articles on my web site and
in the forum in the last 17 years, and there isn't an iota of "fake
news" in any of them.

And so, Higgie, you have a choice: You can believe the crap in
Politico, Washington Post, NY Times, MSNBC, BBC, etc., which don't
report the news, but report DNC press releases, or you can believe the
articles that I write, which tell what's actually going on.

If it was campaign rhetoric, now that the market has gone nowhere since he was elected, it backfired and his campaign is in trouble. Makes him look like just another dumb Washington politician. He should have aimed to make himself look better than that, but he didn't.

Trump is acting like a loser, just like the people he criticizes. He needs to stop tweeting and start looking presidential. If he's got something important to say he should get on television and address the nation.

Bottom line, Trump is just another monkey flying a 747. He has no idea how western civilization came to be or what is required to maintain it. He was not proactive when it came to a possible pandemic and frittered his time away with nonsense.

If he had no choice but to fritter his time away with such nonsense in order to stay in power, that's all the proof needed to say the world is entering into a new dark age because no president will be able to do his job no matter how good he is.

When Trump entered the presidential race, my step mother asked me what I thought of Trump.

My answer: "It's all bread and circuses anyway - might as well get some entertainment on the way down."
