Prediction time Tom:

Do they raise rates once for .25? Twice?

If they do, do the markets react and send them back with their tail between their legs after a big sell off?

My guess (I am not dogmatic like John, this is fallible) is that they raise once, maybe twice, the markets crash and we are back to 1/4% and QE on steroids.

I can see that. I am saying only once, if that. Agreed.

Well, I bolded the 'maybe'. Just covering my ***. I think a second rise is unlikely too.

But even the comparison to 1974 fails because back then, the Fed had already pushed short-term rates to 9%. Today: most reckless Fed ever.

Great comments on the Schiff article at ZH ... one pointed out that shrinkflation has created another additive way for the CPI buffoons to not accurately show us increases in price (diminish this obvious fact) = same price for a decreased amount or souped up version. The opposite of the correction for hedonic adjustment, lol, which seems to be the only way they go - never increasing CPI, always lowering it with manipulations. Sorry, we we ain't that stupid.
