I agree. The Russell 2000 and the Dow Industrials are still holding their August 11 highs. This is the greatest opportunity of my lifetime, or maybe any lifetime, to be short US bubble stocks. We know that great opportunities are fraught with great danger and this bear market rally, if that's what it is, has been all of that.

I'm not watching PMs now except out of the corner of my eye but I remarked to my broker the other day that the stock market action reminded me of May 2006, then went on to talk about how PMs might be a similar position.

Silver lost about 1/3 in that mini crash and I expect this one to be similar.

I haven't traded silver since the March low but I took a crack at it Friday for the first time in 5 months. Here's a snip from my daily statement. I would never go short and hold based on the above expectation of a 1/3 drop but when there's a lot of bullishness followed by turbulence in a market it can often result in profitable trading.

If I could trade a market from the short side right now it would be palladium. But the only trading vehicle available is the 100 ounce contract which has a margin requirement of somewhere around $34,000. That's more than I feel I can safely handle. If oil gets volatile I may do that.

I'm keeping my S&P position separate from my trading until the S&P starts to drop.

I didn't verify these numbers (and probably can't get truthful numbers anyway) but I read the other night that the Federal Reserve is printing 34% of GDP. That's not a Depression. That's a disaster.
